Coffee Quality

Pros:

  • "The coffee was the best coffee I've had anywhere in the UK."
  • "Coffees had so far are their Nicaragua (Las Nubes) and Colombia (Corozal), and both are truly exquisite."
  • "One of the best pour overs or 'filter' coffee I've had outside of the United States."
  • "Strong and unique flavors (espresso and filter), I always try something new and love it all."
  • "The coffee here is fantastic - like really really good. Very well brewed."
  • "The coffee is excellent; genuinely some of the best I've had."
  • "Easily one of the best coffees I've ever had!"

Cons:

  • "The coffee was subpar for a specialized coffee place."
  • "Walking back to work and I thought 'I'm going to treat myself, i'm worth it!' Nice place, friendly staff, lots of tasty looking cakes etc. A bit disappointed by the coffee though, not bad but average."
  • "The coffee I was served was not that strong in flavour, and had a “washed out” taste."
  • "Got a cappuccino with coconut hints and a hot chocolate for takeaway... Both the cappuccino and hot chocolate were thin and watered down too much for my liking."
  • "Espresso extraction was not on point... Sour & salty."
  • "The decaf espresso was absolutely disgusting, extremely bitter."

Staff and Service

Pros:

  • "Lovely location sitting outside in the sun with friendly staff."
  • "Sublime coffee, knowledgeable and super friendly staff who explained things well to all of our coffee novice questions :)"
  • "All the baristas are very friendly and knowledgeable about coffee."
  • "The staff here are the absolute best."
  • "Fantastic friendly service with a team clearly passionate about their coffee, educating and communicating flavours."
  • "But the service is exceptional, carefully explained both the coffee options but also provided me helpful recommendations of the city."
  • "Service here is excellent."

Cons:

  • "But, my main criticism is the lack of customer service, I greeted the barista behind the counter on entering, with no response from him whatsoever."
  • "Coffee was average, but the reason for a bad review was for one of the staff members."
  • "Very unprofessional and discriminatory towards people who have made a personal decision."

Value

Pros:

  • "You will be able to buy a cheaper coffee in Bristol but in our opinion a cup from Full Court Press is worth paying that bit extra."
  • "Yes, price for coffee is comparatively high because of the beans and baristas’ technique, but it definitely worth to."

Cons:

  • "Would perhaps look for somewhere a little cheaper next time."
  • "Felt quite out of pocket. £3.95 for a albeit tasty (with good notes) but VERY small filter coffee that is tepid to drink."
  • "Marks down for lack of Oat milk, and unable to add an extra shot without charging me £2.70."
  • "Obviously you'll spend a bit more per cup here than other java joints nearby."
  • "The coffee is pretty pricey at £4 for a cow’s milk flat white."
  • "More expensive than other coffee shops in bristol is the downside."

Ambiance and Location

Pros:

  • "A welcoming environment where you can have fun and relax. An added bonus of free pads & tampons! Great to see."
  • "On the plus side, atmosphere is quite nice (good lighting & music choices)."
  • "The location is lovely too, surrounded by lots of Bristol History."
  • "Inside the coffee shop is very zen, the tables outside are delightful, surrounded by flowers."
  • "It's a lovely spot in the heart of the old city, where you can have a take away cuppa or sit down and enjoy the chilled atmosphere."

Cons:

  • "The shop is not great for extended work as the shop is small."
  • "There's not much else to the menu."
  • "There’s very limited seating, mainly outdoors and some benches inside which were full on Sunday afternoon."

Social Responsibility

Pros:

  • "Icing on the cake - their commitment to social issues, such as BLM, is truly respectable."
  • "Happy to see they still request masks to be used in store, and hand sanitiser."
  • "They roast their own beans and work with other Bristol coffee roasters, helping contribute to the local economy and the diversity that’s so important in our city."

Cons:

  • "Sometimes, the customer should just be given what they request."
