Layout & Accessibility

Pros:

  • "It's easy to get to, well laid out, sells pretty much everything you can think of for the home/garden and easy to find what you're looking for."
  • "Thoroughly enjoyed our hour wandering round the well laid out garden area outside."
  • "The car park was large and easily accessible."
  • "A huge (free) customer car park with plenty of disabled spaces."
  • "Nice garden centre to visit. Plenty of parking at front entrance."
  • "Good selection of plants, very well priced too and it's dog friendly as well."
  • "Ample parking available on site."

Cons:

  • "Some of the isles, particularly in the pet shop, were very narrow."
  • "I need a walking stick to get around and found the path through the various departments in the shop that you have to take before getting to the garden quiet difficult."
  • "Take care on the decking outside the cafe which is very slippy when wet."
  • "Some large potholes in carpark and going around the outdoor area which made it hard to get around."
  • "Navigating around the whole place is a bit like Ikea - no clue how to find a till or the exit, very confusing layout."
  • "The inside seems quite tight & compact for moving around."
  • "Once inside found it rather difficult to find the tills as there are very few signs and the shop seems to be set out rather higgeldy piggeldy."

Food & Restaurant

Pros:

  • "Very good quality and quantity, hot and delicious."
  • "The coffee shop is definitely worth a visit on its own with amazing choices of cakes and savoury treats which is fresh and tasty."
  • "Had the most delicious sandwich in the restaurant - prawn and crayfish in a gorgeous seeded bread with coleslaw and salad - so good I went back and had another one today."
  • "Deli counter and locally baked bread and cakes are to die for!"
  • "As for the cafe/restaurant, the food & cakes leave nothing to be desired, they are really good."
  • "Lovely roast pork meal. This set us up for a shopping spree around the garden centre proper."
  • "The food was terrific, I had proper home made soup and my friend had a pork baguette with plenty of salad."

Cons:

  • "Food here can be very hit and miss."
  • "Poor food a couple of weeks ago, but we decided to give it another go yesterday. Β£9.45 for a white bread sandwich that's way too expensive."
  • "Everything looked so fantastic but when our food arrived we found it tasteless."
  • "Ordered scrambled eggs on sourdough toast with bacon. Very disappointed: eggs so pale, with no flavour.... what I'd expect from some catering packet. Soggy toast."
  • "We waited a long time to be seated, not as if it was busy... We waited an hour for a sandwich πŸ₯ͺand a bowl of hardly any πŸ§€ cheese on the chunky chips!"
  • "Today was terrible they were not busy but took 45mins to serve an overpriced, undersized dried out microwaved lasagne & ham, egg and chips and lukewarm pot of tea."
  • "Waited just over 35mins for our breakfast to arrive, food nothing to write home about, definitely not worth the money."

  • "The staff were just fabulous. Led by the super efficient supervisor it was a joy to be in there."

Cons:

  • "Overheard I think was the manager talking to another staff member and she spoke horribly to her staff."
  • "I was extremely upset to then be approached by a girl in the delicatessen area and rudely told dogs were not allowed in that area."
  • "I asked the girl in the reptile room about it and she was very curt how she spoke to me."
  • "Staff a lot to be desired looking down their nose at you!"
  • "I was challenged by a particularly unpleasant woman who said I was queue jumping."
  • "One of the cafe staff members was a little rude."
  • "Also whilst in the store, the cafe lights were on and there were two people working in there so I asked if they were doing takeaway coffee, only to be told very abruptly that they don't do takeaway and never have."

  • "The stock of plants were a bit low."
  • "I think that Β£10 for a crab sandwich that contained mainly lettuce leaves is a bit much."
  • "Stock similar to that in Endsleigh garden centre, which is same group and also too expensive for my taste."
