Organization and Crowd Management

Pros:

  • "They are very well organized on dealing with the crowds and even though it was packed, there was no wait."
  • "Amazing experience! Got to see the House of Commons, House of Lords etc. No wait on a weekend, just need time for security checks."
  • "Definitely book your tickets in advance via their website. It removes a good amount of the waiting time to enter."
  • "With pre-purchased tickets we still waited in line nearly 30 minutes."

Cons:

  • "There was a queue to see the different tombs but other than that, the crowd was fairly manageable."
  • "The place gets crowded so you will be bumping shoulders quite often with other visitors."
  • "It's big and beautiful and covered in grave markers and memorials... you can tell disrespectful tourists have ruined the lawn and garden one too many times."
  • "Multiple workers were not willing to be helpful with our questions... We spent $70 to go there, saw nothing, were talked down to by several rude staff, and left after 10 minutes of searching for the loo."

Historical and Cultural Significance

Pros:

  • "So much history in that church."
  • "For those with an Anglo-Saxon background or education, this place is mind blowing! The history buried here is beyond comprehension."
  • "This has to be one of the most beautiful places on earth. It is awesome to see buildings older than the USA."
  • "A must-visit destination where history comes alive. Discover the final resting place of renowned figures such as Stephen Hawking and Newton, as well as numerous poets and writers."

Cons:

  • "If you are a history buff of any kind I would recommend doing some prior research as the historical figures buried there, and in which part of the abbey they are interred as the place is absolutely full of stuff and it can be very overwhelming."
  • "4 stars due to the excessive entry charges (which is London I guess...)"
  • "The Abbey is unreal! Adults pay £27 to enter and you can have a self-guided tour using headphones and a guide tablet."
  • "Slightly disorganised as there could be more sign posts telling people where to go."

Visitor Experience and Accessibility

Pros:

  • "Amazing place. They provide self guided audio's with headphones."
  • "This was a beautiful visit. We got tickets ahead of time and only had to wait 10 mins to get started."
  • "Magnificent cathedral with a great history and links to the royal family. We had an audio guide that provides all the information you can wish for."
  • "Highly memorable experience. There was a variety of unique aspects one could partake in at this venue."

Cons:

  • "I've been to dozens of historical churches, and so the price point for this one felt a bit high and I was unsure what to expect."
  • "It was so packed full of tourists that you're forced into a moving, single file line which ruined the experience for me."
  • "A bit different from most people BUT I didn’t come by for the traditional tour... No singing from the audience in this one and felt more like a classical concert than a hymn service."
  • "We bought our tickets online from the Abbey the day before we went. There were limited times available at that point... It took us about 90 minutes to go through the inside area."
