Food Quality

Pros:

  • "The spring rolls were super yummy and green curry with tofu spot on."
  • "Best green curry I've ever had. My partner had the pad thai which was also the best pad thai we ever had."
  • "The flavors of the spicy noodle soup and Pad Thai were decent."
  • "Every time we have visited we loved it. The food is quality, well balanced and tasty."
  • "The Tom Yum soup was great, probably the best I've had in Leeds."
  • "I love Mommy Thai, I've been going here for a few years now and the food has always been brilliant and authentic."
  • "Food was incredible; just like what we had in Thailand!"
  • "The food here is very nice and the portion sizes are good especially if you get the large variety."

Cons:

  • "Service and atmosphere were fine but the meats were all dry and overcooked."
  • "The pork in the noodle soup was slightly better but still quite dry like it was previously frozen."
  • "No salt in chicken and it was too hard and clearly understood that it is fried multiple times- means not fresh chicken they are using."
  • "Got a bowl of curry sauce (pure liquid) and a tiny bowl of noodles, with no fish at all and 2 tiny fish balls probably cooked from frozen."
  • "Food was reasonably priced and ok. The inside is grubby, and needs a deep clean."
  • "The ribs were oily and tough. The sauce for the duck meal was too sweet and thick. The sticky rice was hard because it probably was microwaved."
  • "The food is actually fine but it’s about the bill."
  • "The food was very underwhelming, Masaman should be thick and rich whereas this was soupy and lacking depth."

  • "Staff were friendly and food was quite authentic with a quick service."

Cons:

  • "Waited a long time for serving, pork was raw at first time, serving without any apology."
  • "My partner and I debated if it were racially motivated but I kept it positive, while leaving we were told to pay at the door but while we stood there to pay the waitress told us to get out of her way so she could pass behind us."
  • "Although it took a while to get my order taken, the food came really quickly. However, my drink was forgotten and I had to remind them of this when I came to pay the bill."
  • "We were just in time for the lunch special - a main and starter for the grand price of...£7.95!!!! I ordered the Guay Teow Tom Yum with the Prawn Tempura and my boyfriend ordered the Ba Mee Geow and the Chicken Satay."
  • "Food great tasting and value for money. Super authentic, to the point of there being a slight language barrier but friendly and eager to please."

  • "I found it incredibly noisy while I was there, with a combination of music, loud voices and kids watching videos on tablets."
  • "A really laid back cosy and relaxed feel but also lively and buzzing."
  • "Mommy Thai is affiliated with MyThai but I think it has a slightly cut down menu and much more relaxed feel – if that's even possible!"

Cons:

  • "The iced coffee and green tea were very sweet which was a nice pick me up but I imagine some people might need to ask for adjusted sugar levels."
  • "Very little room between seats and tables and not suitable for people with mobility problems or large body types."
  • "The place isn’t massive in size at all. So seating is limited but the service and food is fantastic."
  • "Really cramped seating arrangements resulting in the staff asking us to push the seats in so they could go past."
  • "As authentic as it can get in a city like Leeds. Simple but hearty and authentic Thai food served by Thai guys."
  • "Toilet was a bit of a strange experience - just a door off the dining room, no mirror or hand drying facilities."
  • "Glad we sat outside as inside was crowded, loud and hot, definitely couldn’t have had a meal there."
  • "The inside is grubby, and needs a deep clean."
