Location and Views
Pros:
"Nestled in the heart of North Wales, near Pwllheli, Treheli Farm camping site offers a perfect blend of coastal and countryside charm."
"Site was easy to find. Great location overlooking the sea."
"The view is amazing over the bay, where the dolphins play."
"Great place to rest, awesome view. We stayed in the tent enjoying the sound of the sea."
"The views from the cliff top camping are breathtaking, falling asleep & waking up to the sound of the waves is just the best."
"Fantastic location. Got a pitch on the cliff edge with the most amazing views out to sea."
"This campsite must have the best views of any I’ve been to. We were able to set up close to the cliff edge with views over Hells Mouth."
"One of the most picturesque and amazing campsites I've ever been."
Cons:
"Access to the beach is difficult from the nearest path but an easier path exists."
"Although next to the sea, the path to the beach is hazardous and impassable."
"The walk to the beach is a tad steep."
"Access for water was tricky and no grey water point."
"The path could be very, very slippery from rain or mist."
"The distance to the toilets/showers & drinking water is another thing."
"There is a rather good descent, but the owner keeps it private."
"No amenities, but if you're looking for a quiet peaceful refuge away from it all, look no further."
Facilities
Pros:
"Additionally, the clean and well-maintained toilets and showers add a touch of comfort to the camping experience."
"Facilities are excellent and the owners friendly."
"The toilets and showers are nice & clean."
"Facilities are everything needed and clean."
"Toilets were spotless, showers, drinking water, washing up facilities."
"Facilities were clean and well maintained."
"Facilities clean and not too busy."
"The utilities are clean, well maintained and right for the size of the place (never qued for toilets or shower)."
Cons:
"Facilities were lackluster as mentioned in previous reviews. 2 toilets, 2 showers mens/women barely enclosed and quite the walk from the campsite."
"Water access was one tap, long distance from tents."
"No inside toilet block for getting changed after shower or brushing teeth inside in case of rain."
"The site is also massive and I've never been to a site of such size with so few facilities."
"Nowhere to dispose of general waste!!! Unbelievable that they won't even pay to dispose of waste and you have to take it off site yourself."
"The beach path was more than accessible for myself and my 9 year old daughter."
"The toilets/showers are well kept. If not come back in over half an hour if possible."
"Temporary toilet/shower block slightly overwhelmed when the site is busy."
Value for Money
Pros:
"At £30 a pitch I think this site is great value for money."
"The campsite is very affordable."
"We went to Treheli about a year and a bit after we'd intended to because of lockdown and it was totally worth the wait."
"Very clean space and enough distance from the other tents."
"This is clearly not a cheap site. You are paying for a stunning view and the owner either charges less but has loads more people on site."
Cons:
"This one was very poor value for the money with regards to facilities being near."
"£30 per 'pitch' no matter the size of the tent."
"The fees are extortionate and discriminate against solo travellers (or even those who are in a group but only have small tents)."
"Perhaps a bit expensive for two walkers (30GBP, while other campsites charge10GPB) for a one night stand with a small tent."
"Clearly I was shocked how the new owners charged us a fortune for a night's stay. 15 pppn whozees, how is a family of four supposed to afford that for a weeks holiday."
"For £15pppn, you could stay in a bunkhouse."
"Wasn't looking at anything more than a pitch for the night but told £15 for the night, no utilities, out of season and nothing nearby."
"£30 per night for 2 people (£15 each per night) for a small tent is totally ridiculous."
Staff and Hospitality
Pros:
"The warmth and hospitality of the family staff further enhance the overall stay, creating a welcoming atmosphere."
"The manager was friendly and the coffee in the shop was good."
"The owners are the friendliest and most helpful and welcoming we've ever come across."
"The owners are friendly, and both Mark and Alison are there if you need any advice on where to go."
"The owners are very friendly."
"Mark the owner is a really nice and helpful guy."
"Mark, the owner, couldn’t be more helpful and is easy to find as he’s usually in the field checking people in."
"Mark the owner and the caretaker is amazing person and so helpful with anything that you need for the place."
Cons:
"Staying there a huge party of kids arriving in large tents camped next to us. The rules from campsite with distance was broken, however it was obvious owners knew about it. Did nothing about it."
"The only thing that slightly let it down was some dog owners not cleaning up after there dogs which lead to our child standing in mess a could of times."
"This isn't a party campsite and the owner (thankfully) has a no music policy to keep things quiet."
"The "With direct access down to the sea, you really don't have to go far for an great day out either!" is more like taking a running jump."
