Animal Interactions

Pros:

  • "Got to interact with all sorts of animals from tortoises to marmoset monkeys."
  • "You can feed a lot of the wildlife and watch some amazing shows!"
  • "We got to feed the camels up close and personal and to hold the guinea pigs."
  • "We got to hold a skunk which made it worth the ticket price."
  • "The meerkats climb all over you and you get to feed them."
  • "Had meerkats climbing on you, snuggling on you, fighting (playfully) with you or just digging around you, sheer joy!"
  • "The baby camel was adorable, and it’s nice to be able to hand feed so many animals."

Cons:

  • "The only disappointment was most of the animals had signs saying 'do not feed these animals' so the food we had got went to waste."
  • "The guinea pigs are very poorly taken care of. The cage bars are far too wide to the point one of the pigs got its head stuck and when I told the owner, he didn’t seem to care."
  • "One poor camel was rocking his head back and forth in a very stressed like manner."
  • "The animals have not been exhibiting normal behavior patterns, they are constantly pacing up and down their enclosures."
  • "The cages for the animals are absolutely tiny and the animals looked sad."

Staff and Service

Pros:

  • "Staff have lots of knowledge about the different animals, they are helpful and lovely."
  • "All the staff we came across were friendly and helpful."
  • "The staff were very friendly, knowledgeable and passionate about their animals."
  • "Staff really helpful and friendly."
  • "The staff were friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable."
  • "The staff were amazing and nothing was too much trouble."
  • "Staff are super friendly and helpful."

Cons:

  • "Speaking to him he was very careless and had terrible customer service. Just seemed grumpy."
  • "Paul on the other hand is a grump with no sense of humor."
  • "Thirdly, the managers are not great, when I entered the reception bit, the owners looked utterly miserable."
  • "Disabled access is awful you need to try and drag your wheelchair over very uneven entry area with large uneven door thresholds and the woman on the reception was not very helpful she just wanted to take money and not help."

Facilities and Accessibility

Pros:

  • "The park was clean, and well presented."
  • "It's great for all ages. Not too big but enough to wear a toddler out."
  • "What a lovely day out it wasn't massive so I was able to complete the walk around I use a stick and found it easy to navigate."
  • "The sanctuary was clean and well presented with a small gift shop at the entrance (exceptionally well priced)."
  • "A well kept and maintained place with a nice shop, play area and sanitising areas."
  • "Hand washing facilities, gift shop, toilets, play area for kids and you can get a snack and drink."
  • "There was a lovely spacious area for picnics if weather permits."

Cons:

  • "The ground is very bumpy in places with big dips and tree branches so felt like I was going to fall off my mobility scooter on multiple occasions and got stuck in the mud."
  • "The only toilets appear to be Tardis-style portaloos."
  • "Only one proper toilet (plus some porta loos) and, whilst there are no steps, the ground is uneven in places - so wheelchair users may struggle."
  • "Although the car parking was wide and plentiful, the one thing this business could improve on is signage!"
  • "Toilets are portaloos, which were grim."
  • "Great place to go, not very disabled friendly, it would be very difficult to get round in a wheelchair."
  • "Need more hand sanitising stations around. Wear sensible shoes as very muddy."
