Quality of Pizza

Pros:

  • "One of the best Neapolitan pizzas you can find in London, in my top 3 for sure."
  • "Best pizza I have ever tried. Lived in Italy and traveled the world and still this is the best I have ever tried."
  • "The flavour of every ingredient, from tomatoes to anchovies to olives, fresh basil and even olive oil, absolutely shines through. Just fantastic."
  • "The dough is the softest and fluffliest dough I've come across and the pizza sauce was just the right viscosity for the pizza with that lovely Mediterranean tomato flavour."
  • "Best pizza and restaurant experience of my whole life! Italy literally came to Chiswick."
  • "Pizzas are good, no doubts about it."

Cons:

  • "Pizzas are good, however not better than many others Neapolitan pizzerias scattered around London."
  • "The portion was on the smaller size, and taste-wise it was unremarkable."
  • "The pizza received some public acclaim, but I found it very good with very interesting toppings, but not exceptional compared to some other artisanal pizza places around London."
  • "The pizza is not worth the hassle."
  • "Over-priced under-garnished. Maybe they can't cope with their recent success but this was definitely not the best pizza in the world and far from the best pizza I have had."

Service

Pros:

  • "The service is fantastic and the atmosphere welcoming."
  • "Literally the best staff I have encountered in years - so friendly, welcoming, helpful and polite."
  • "Most importantly every member of staff was friendly and went above and beyond to make the experience wonderful."
  • "The staff is amazing, Francesco (hope I got the right name) is super friendly and will explain and help you choosing your pizza."
  • "The service was really good with fun/ great staff."
  • "Service was good, plenty of good options on the menu I need to go back and check out."

Cons:

  • "We made a reservation and when we arrived they made us wait 25 minutes for our table."
  • "Knocking off stars because they rushed us out of the restaurant as the kitchen was closing and then never gave us any of our packed leftovers that they promised to box."
  • "The service was terrible - wasn’t seated (we had booked) for 25 minutes, hostile servers, food arrived before our drinks and general disorder!"
  • "Very poor customer service, staff is lazy and hardly communicates to the customers."
  • "Booked a table 3 weeks in advance - only for them to say it will be a 30 minute wait."

Price and Value

Pros:

  • "Absolutely perfect. Lovely location to relax, sit and enjoy great food and drink."
  • "Best pizza in London without doubts. Looking forward to come back!"
  • "The price for the quality was great: £30 pp without alcohol."
  • "Fairly priced, lovely venue, excellent customer service!"
  • "The pizza made by chef Michelle pascarella one of the best pizza chef in London and he uses fresh ingredients from Italy and his secret of the pizza dough all that make an amazing delicious pizza :)"
  • "The price is spot on and staff is great."

Cons:

  • "Charging £14 for a standard spicy salami or £16 for a Capricciosa I found it a little excessive."
  • "So, is it overpriced? Definitely."
  • "One of the best pizzas I've ever had. It is also the most expensive."
  • "We ordered a margarita which was good but not the best for me and pesto gnocchi and it was really flavourful. the best part was the tiramisu!!! it's a MUST and definitely one of the best tiramisu I've ever had! maybe a bit too sweet but overall balanced and just scrumptious. The service was great! the staff were really friendly."
  • "Overpriced and small portions compared with similar restaurants I dont give them 1 because the flavours were acceptable and the sourdough is good but too expensive a~£9 in other places similar pizza but ended paying £17"

Ambience and Location

Pros:

  • "A lovely experience with the food, unique flavours, thoughtful presentation, and very delicious dough. It's also vegan friendly which is a plus!"
  • "I had the opportunity to try out the Sunday Roast pizza what is available till April ( so be quick and make a reservation, because this pizza worth it!!!!🙏🙏🙏)"
  • "Napoli on the Road is on Devonshire road, just off Chiswick High Road. It it always packed with people and super busy."
  • "Nice little place in Chiswick with great service."
  • "The atmosphere is friendly; the restaurant feels authentic. The interior is warm and welcoming and they have a charming citrus tree in the middle of the floor."
  • "Very friendly , always busy place on Devonshire Street, W4, fresh delicious pizza and ever smiling Alex makes sure all is going well on the table."

Cons:

  • "The place is a bit noisy."
  • "The atmosphere was fabulous, busy and buzzy and the staff attentive and friendly."
  • "Napoli on the Road, nice place to dine, however if you’re going to go evenings and weekends, make sure to have a reservation. The restaurant is quite small and the tables are cramped next to each other and when it gets busy, you can barely have a conversation with whomever you’re with as it’s so loud."
  • "We booked a table in advance, the staff was somewhat confused and refused us."
  • "However Napoli on the Road joins some of those other London restaurants that seek to tip themselves - as if this was America and every serviceman and woman should be entitled to a tip regardless of their service standards. But this is Britain and tipping is an option here. Further, how were we to know who the tip was to go to?"
