Comedy and Entertainment
Pros:
"Loved the comedy value of this tour our driver and tour leader was amazing."
"Had such a fun night on the Ghost Bus Tour last night. Was hilarious and loved hearing about all the trivia."
"Very Informative and absolutely hilarious ππΌThanks to Frank Stein, the conductor, who just made the whole tour!"
"The tour was brilliant! Really funny and entertaining. You can see they put a lot of hard work into what they do to ensure everyone is involved and has a good time."
"Our conductor, Phil, had some excellent stand-up comedy and included the audience well. Overall an excellent experience for all to enjoy!"
"Our guide / deranged bus conductor was Frankie Monroe, he was full of ghostly information and packed it with great humour."
"Absolutely fantastic. Phil Graves made us laugh so much, and we learnt so much about Yorks' spooky history."
"An absolutely thrilling experience! Not only did it have some facts, it shone in its comedy and comedic horror!"
Cons:
"Bit cheesy but good fun! Frank Stein the conductor and guide was great, Bob the driver too, lasted around 50mins rather than 1hr 15mins stated so not sure it was worth the Β£35 we paid."
"Awful experience. Tried this last year and thought we had a dud guide so tried again for a friend's birthday but it was just as awful with a different guide. Crass script, poor shouty delivery, and awkward audience participation."
"Went on this after reading so many mainly favourable reviews, and we were excited to enjoy it. Unfortunately found it a bit cringy and lame."
"bad value for money. the bus itself was cool, but wouldnt recommend this tour unless you would like to be deaf by the end. all sound effects and voice overs were ridiculously loud to the point my ears hurt."
"This was so bad and not worth the money at all. The advertising pictures have people dressed up, the grim reaper ect and it was simply one man in normal clothing and not much going on apart from him talking into a camera in a silly voice."
"Comical but disjointed experience. Ghost stories were short, lacked detail, and hard to follow."
"Not worth the Β£18 per person that we paid. Tacky show with no flair so got bored quickly."
"The bus is a great idea and is a great prop.. but the tour guide script is chronic and poorly delivered. Not scary and even cringy and boring by the end. Need to up their game."
Information and Education
Pros:
"Only downside would of liked a little more information but thoroughly enjoyed well worth it and a must do if visiting."
"Very informative and absolutely hilarious. Thanks to Frank Stein, the conductor, who just made the whole tour!"
"Hopped on the bus of horrors and fright this weekend and was blown away by the information and comedy provided by the conductor, Mr Blood."
"The tour was brilliant! Really funny and entertaining. Lots of interesting information provided while still keeping it fun."
"Informative with a bit of banter what more could you want? Tour guy was great and easy to talk to should you have any questions."
"Very informative but fun at the same time. We learnt lots of new facts and discovered another side to York!"
"Really funny guide, Isaac Blood I think his name was, definitely worth the trip for it, very factual and very funny too, good way to get history of York."
"What an entertaining way to see York even on a rainy night! Went with kids as young as 7 and it was great. Not too long and plenty of info on the way."
Cons:
"Not great for the price. Struggled to hear the conductor over the bus. I know the bus is old but maybe need a louder mic."
"I can honestly say, I came away only knowing about the history from the walking tour bit, not the actual bus tour."
"Sadly didn't have the same shine as the Edinburgh one, but was a good way to view York nonetheless. Perhaps it was an off night for the guide."
"Appalling...a complete rip off. You could have done the same by just getting on any bus..at least you'd have been spared the (not so) 'funny' comedy act π."
"Awful. Nothing to see as bus canβt get into the narrow interesting parts of York. Stories with zero substance, lots of βand his head fell offβ."
"The bus is a great idea and is a great prop.. but the tour guide script is chronic and poorly delivered. Not scary and even cringy and boring by the end. Need to up their game."
"Could be really good in a group if you've had several drinks. Tour guide certainly tried hard, but fell short."
"No bus arrived just left 8 of us standing in the cold no excuse for not letting us no when only book a couple of hours b4."
