Food Quality and Taste

Pros:

  • "The soft shell crab and prawn tempura in the sushi rolls were absolutely in point. It was fresh and delicious leaving me wanting more!"
  • "Everything was cooked to perfection, the flavours were super yummy and tasty."
  • "Crispy chicken, with homemade spicy mayo (delicious) well cooked and very tasty everything tasted fresh."
  • "The sashimi were extremely fresh and refreshing on a hot day, and the sanjugo roll was such a pleasant surprise."
  • "From the most tasty bao I have had in London to an incredible collection of maki rolls — I couldn’t have left the place feeling more fulfilled than I did."
  • "The Unagi Don was really scrumptious, so soft like it melts in your mouth and the sauce adds flavour to it, additionally, it was so silky as well."
  • "Everything was packed with flavour and cooked perfectly - and the crab was an impressive sight too!!"
  • "All the food was incredible, so good I can't really pick one thing!!"

Cons:

  • "One thing that I didn't enjoy/ like was the thick batter used to fry the chicken which was where the food lost one star because I couldn't taste much of the chicken meat."
  • "The downside about this was once again the high price (£18) for 5 pieces."
  • "The veggie rolls were really boring and mine didn’t have avocado in a lot of them and the aubergine was swimming in a literal pool of oil."
  • "The rainbow roll was a bit small and rice for the nigiri was not that fresh tasting."
  • "I ordered the veggie rolls, the aubergine and hiramasa salad. The hiramasa salad was great, however the veggie rolls were really boring."
  • "Rainbow roll was a bit small and rice for the nigiri was not that fresh tasting. Maybe other non-sushi menu items would have been better."
  • "I burnt my tongue and gum after eating the takoyaki."
  • "Prawn breading was too much and prawn itself was small."

Service

Pros:

  • "The staff were all very friendly and approachable and we were served by a number of them and had really good experiences with them all."
  • "Service was really friendly and the restaurant has a great atmosphere, and the chef is second to none."
  • "Service was great - the staff are so helpful and friendly. Overall good, but better sushi out there for this price point."
  • "Service was very kind and friendly, and I LOVE that they come around and top up water frequently (it was a super hot day)."

Cons:

  • "Sanjugo was ok but I wasn’t blown away and wanted to leave quickly. I got a terrible table at the bar."
  • "Very typical Japanese restaurant. Location is small but cozy with lots of decorations in Japanese style."
  • "Service was a little slow, we were thinking about dessert but decided against it because of the long gap between finishing the main and being offered a dessert menu."
  • "Good, but not great. The food was a bit expensive, but there is a lunch offer for £7. It was a little small and I looked for a side as I was still hungry, but there weren't any inexpensive options."
