Staff and Service
Pros:
"Always friendly and helpful staff around to assist."
"Very good food in the cafe."
"Good menu and helpful staff."
"Staff are out of this world, well done Dawn!"
"Helpful staff in all areas."
"The serving staff are amongst the best you will find, enthusiastic, friendly, professional and hard working."
"Waiters were very friendly and attentive."
Cons:
"The restaurant is a lovely setting, however, I am sorry to say the manager was very unhelpful and to be honest rude."
"One of your employees was taking the piss out of one of your customers after pretending to help them."
"Some (not all, by any means) of the staff seem to be a bit dim and therefore are unable to assist other than to help carry stuff to the car."
"Terrible customer service - bought £80 worth of items including a £40 apple tree, and whilst I was about to pay the person on the till decided to “help” by clumsily grabbing the trunk of the apple tree and dragging it from the till to outside the front door of the shop, spilling soil all over the place."
"The staff weren’t much help."
"Didn't have the opportunity to give the staff feedback as nobody came to our table."
"No one ever came to inquire about our food, so we ate what we could and left."
Accessibility and Layout
Pros:
"If its plants for indoors or out you'll get them here and cheap compared to a lot I've been to."
"Easy access from the car park, no steps to tackle if you have mobility issue."
"There is well thought out wheelchair access."
"Went to the olive tree with friends for lunch beautiful cafe plenty of tables, wheelchair friendly as all flat, beautiful outdoor seating."
"Pyle Garden Centre now has an excellent layout and one way system."
"New large car park at the back is great."
"Lovely garden centre, pretty much anything for your garden you will find here."
Cons:
"The seats at the table are totally unsuitable for people with disabilities, particularly back problems… the chairs were very uncomfortable and offered no support for me, making it difficult to get up and sit down without fear of falling."
"Not very friendly for people with disabilities etc, There is a Small carpark at the front with disabled spaces and larger one at the rear of the front one is full but then you have to walk all the way around to the front to get in."
"There is no safe pedestrian access up and down the hill, which is badly in need of repair, & certainly a health & safety issue."
"Customers (elderly and disabled included) are expected to negotiate a winding narrow and steep roadway around to the front entrance."
"Also, there is now no internal access to the delightful cafe or even the toilets."
"No thought has gone into the new layout of the garden centre to make it enjoyable for the customer."
"Now there is no access to the garden centre from this car park."
Food Quality
Pros:
"The olive cafe is a delight to sit in and have lunch."
"The food was magnificent."
"Enjoyed a light brunch which was cooked & presented beautifully ..to perfection actually."
"The food itself combines pleasing aesthetics with excellent taste profiles, combining flavours well to bring out the best of the fresh ingredients."
"Food was well cooked and seasoned and they didn't skimp on the servings."
"Had the best steak and ale pie for a long time, reasonably priced too."
"Food was delicious & the service was great."
Cons:
"The overall taste of the meal was just grease."
"The avocado was brown and streaked which is a clear indication that it's only good for the compost heap."
"My partner ordered the minute steak which had a skimpy amount of rather tough, flavourless shoe leather."
"The reality was a steak and ale pie, such as Pukka that can be bought in a supermarket for a £1."
"The mushrooms had been deep fried into a chewy greasy mess."
"When the meal appeared it became apparent why my wife and I had the steak & Stilton pie calling it a pie was a stretch."
"Rock hard bacon, sour dough toast which went up and down in the toaster at least 3 times."
