Views and Location

Pros:

  • "The views across towards Ravenscar are stunning with the backdrop of rolling hills down to Robin Hoods bay."
  • "The location of this site is breathtaking, I could sit outside my tent taking it all in all week."
  • "Amazing clifftop views. What a view to wake up to in a morning."
  • "The views over Robin Hood's Bay are breathtaking!"
  • "One of the best bits of the campsite is a totally FANTASTIC view over the bay."
  • "Stunning view wherever you are pitched at this site."
  • "This is a stunning campsite for tents, motorhomes and caravans on grass pitches with electric hook up. Fabulous views over the bay and Ravenscar."

Cons:

  • "Yes, the walk is a little steep back up to the site from the village and the site is on a slope."
  • "Be aware if going out in the evening it is pitch black for return and we almost couldn't find the entrance gate!"
  • "However with £25 for a no EHU I think it’s way too expensive."
  • "Being on the hillside if the wind is up you feel it."
  • "The walk back, however, took a little longer....my legs aren't used to such steep hills!"
  • "We might as well have booked a car park rather than this site." (Due to the view being obstructed by other vehicles)
  • "The parking up will potentially cause issues with the incline of the site and levelling up."

Facilities and Cleanliness

Pros:

  • "facilities are always kept spotless"
  • "The facilities are always immaculate."
  • "The toilets and showers are immaculate"
  • "Great facilities which are very clean."
  • "Immaculate toilet and shower facilities."
  • "The facilities are spotlessly clean and hot water is constantly available."
  • "It is beautifully maintained and facilities are spotless!"

Cons:

  • "Everyone charges devices in washroom area and have to use plug for kettle and microwave in kitchen and everyone is trustworthy as is campers in general."
  • "Unfortunately a little water logged on my stay due to the rain fall over the week"
  • "The only thing I would ask them to improve upon is the number of showers, that said, there wasn't always a wait, just depended on the time."
  • "Only six showers, three for male, three female. Fine for a half empty site, but can imagine pretty annoying peak season."
  • "The toilets and showers are kept very clean although could do with more time especially when washing long hair."
  • "the site is on a slight incline which although was fine for me some might find a bit of a chore as all the toilets and washrooms at top of the bank"
  • "Most pitches are uneven so bring some levelling ramps."

Staff and Service

Pros:

  • "The owners are friendly & very helpful."

  • "The family that run the site go beyond the call of duty to make sure their guests are happy."
  • "lovely owners who couldn't do enough for you"
  • "The owners were very welcoming and friendly."
  • "Friendly family-run site."

Cons:

  • "Completely blocking the possibility of any group of young men (let alone only 4!) from camping at their site is completely unreasonable and treads a fine line within society today."
  • "Can't deny it is a lovely place but it's like a going away with the school on site by 9 lights out by 10 god help if you fart a bit loud or snore etc complaints about noise at 10.30 when people go on holiday they go for a fun time well you CAN NOT have a good time here."
  • "Somewhat perplexed I can only assume they didn't like my Derbyshire accent or my email address...."
  • "A lovely looking campsite that unfortunately imposes a discriminatory rule that meant myself and my friends weren't even able to book a night there."
  • "I was informed they had no spaces - however during the weekend we tried to book with them, we stayed at another campsite, where we had a clear view of Hooks Farm - it had a total of 8 caravans on it for the whole weekend!"
