Cons:

  • "Food terrible and overpriced for what it was."
  • "Doubt that fish was even cod. Totally tasteless with tiny flakes."
  • "Poor food. Ordered ploughman's lunch. Lunch was served, lettuce was black and curled up edges."
  • "The meal was vastly overpriced for the freezer based food that turned up."
  • "The scampi was doughy, soggy and fishy - probably one of the worst food experiences I’ve had."

Service

Cons:

  • "The only reason for four stars is they have multiple bookings on tables."

  • "If you go in this place sit and serve yourself, because waiters will ignore you."
  • "Only issue was on a busy day we were put on a table by the main walkway and the bar."

Ambiance & Facilities

Pros:

  • "We didn't explore the garden but we could see beautiful sea views through the open doors."
  • "On the second visit there was live music. Jazz of course."
  • "Very recently re-opened under new management, having refreshed the internal decor."
  • "Atmosphere is really friendly and great on summers nights out the back of the pub."
  • "The place is deceptive, looks small, but is big on the inside, looks like a nice beer garden too."
  • "Beautiful cosy pub with fantastic features."
  • "Lovely beer garden with views down the valley and over the sea."

Cons:

  • "No car park found? Small pub on corner of a road."
  • "The lighting is lovely and ambient in the evening but if you need glasses it can be hard to read menus in that light."
  • "Really poor offerings for vegetarians which is a shame."
  • "The only downsides were that one roof window had a dodgy handle, so difficult to open, and the TV seemed to have a black streak on the right side."
  • "Other down side is, where we were placed on the table, it was near the back door, so every time someone went out or to the toilet, it blew in cold air."
  • "Not brilliant for disabled but the place is built on the side of a steep hill/cliff so little could be done to assist wheelchair users!"
  • "Be aware it's cash only and next to a school and busy at 3-4pm with children running behind cars."
