  • "The rooms were well lit and had a nice, cozy atmosphere to them too."
  • "We sat in the backroom of the cafe which one of waitors informed me use to be an old bakery (still has original fittings). It was very cosy and atmospheric with candles sparingly dotted around the room."

  • "Charming atmosphere with a rustic decor that exudes a warm and inviting ambiance."
  • "The space is warm, welcoming and the staff are the same way!"
  • "Urban Angel has exactly the type of vibe I am looking for for a breakfast in Edinburgh: beautiful polished rustic interiors and folk music background."

Cons:

  • "Seating nonexistent... Interior was noisy and somewhat awkward."
  • "The seating was old uncomfortable and the food seriously over priced."
  • "We didn’t like being seated at a small bar right in front of a wall on uncomfortable stools."
  • "The only negative thing I could say is that it was slightly cramped."
  • "They put us to somewhere next to window and we got cold a lot... It was really rude."
  • "The toilets are incredibly tiny and would be very hard to reach in a wheelchair."
  • "Tables are shaking a little bit and chairs are 'quite small' and missing cushions."

Food Quality

Pros:

  • "Very tasty breakfast option."
  • "The sweet chilli sauce that came with the toastie was tasty."
  • "The french toast went well with the combination of basil purée, toasted coconut and lime yoghurt which helped to reduce the sweetness and overall, the flavour was well-balanced."
  • "Best pulled pork burger I've ever had."
  • "Poached eggs cooked to perfection, plenty of nice crispy bacon."
  • "The avocado on toast was beautiful and we also shared a smoothie bowl - nice and thick just as they should be."
  • "The eggs benedict is a piece of art here."

Cons:

  • "The tea was a bit average tho."
  • "Unfortunately they didn’t have wheat free bread."
  • "The only downside is that the food is a bit on the pricier side, but everything seems rather expensive in Edinburgh, so it's not easy getting around that."
  • "The food however was mediocre with the avocado on toast very plain and the bacon being overcooked."
  • "Hollandaise sauce was sour and didn't taste particularly good, and the dish lacked any diversity whatsoever."
  • "The banoffee french toast with nuts, which neither of us liked, it just tasted like a hard scrambled egg drenched in maple syrup with yoghurt."
  • "Unfortunately there was something hard and sharp nestled into my apricot chutney, which really hurt my tooth."
