Atmosphere

Pros:

  • "I prefer to sit in the gazebo of Beir Halle outside on the street on a hot day enjoying a drink. Nice atmosphere there."
  • "Four stars for friendly service and a great atmosphere."
  • "Very casual atmosphere, but may not be for everyone as it's very dark and loud inside (although the music selection is always 10/10)."
  • "The entrance is down a set of stairs so it may seem tucked away, but the service and atmosphere is fantastic!"
  • "Outstanding Bar, has its own little Niche Vibe, very chill great for a date venue, music is chill, nice ambient lighting."
  • "The vibe was friendly, staff were quick to serve with a smile, and the drinks menu was just what I was looking for."
  • "Great bar with extended outdoor seating that gets the sun til later in the evening!"

Cons:

  • "Long cavern like bar, with long large tables. Always busy, very loud, I don't find the place relaxing at all."
  • "It's still dark and loud."
  • "So we are sat in a manky dark room below street level."
  • "Good outside space on the street if the weather's nice but to be honest the pub itself is a little dark and depressing."
  • "It's not the greatest to sit in sometimes, quite cramped, dark and musty and being under ground no signal but WIFI is available."
  • "We were seated by the speaker and couldn't hear anyone talking."
  • "Very loud so it was difficult to hold a conversation."

Service

Pros:

  • "Staff friendly and a nice atmosphere."
  • "Great attentive service in these troubling times."
  • "The staff were really good with us and said they would take our order from the table which made things much easier."

  • "Got brilliant service from all the staff."
  • "Staff are always friendly and very efficient at taking orders."
  • "Attentive helpful staff made the visit a very enjoyable one."

Cons:

  • "Sat and had a drink outside, the service was absolutely shocking."
  • "Customer service is perhaps the worst I’ve ever experienced in a bar in my life and that’s no exaggeration."
  • "Service quite slow, unassured."
  • "Shame it then took over 30 minutes to even come and take our order."
  • "We were seated outside... every server walked by us for approx 5 mins."
  • "Again, very arrogant attitude from that man. He throw coins to me for no reason for such a behavior."
  • "It was a shame that the staff member who greeted us had the worst customer service I have ever seen. She made us feel completely uncomfortable throughout our meal."

Food & Drink

Pros:

  • "I cannot put into words how immense the pizzas are here."
  • "Great pizza and Chicken wings and a wide range of beers."
  • "Also enjoy the pizza - they offer a really nice gluten free base."
  • "Incredible selection of beers from around the world, a great selection of incredible pizzas, and some yummy German snacks too."
  • "The pizzas have a thin and crispy base, with really tasty toppings."
  • "Pizzas are delightful, huge range of world beers, lager and spirits."
  • "Pizzas are fresh and taste great."

Cons:

  • "Drinks can be pricy (£3-12)."
  • "Permanent 2 4 1 pizzas aren’t really an offer at £15 each."
  • "We were sold two bottles of out of date beer and when complained were told it was only a best before."
  • "The pizzas were overly saucy and burned all over the edges."
  • "Mine was supposed to be pesto covered but think chef wasn't wearing any glasses as it was just dotted on the so called pizza."
  • "Outdoor seating area in Buchanan Street. Avoid please. 11.40 for two of the smallest glasses of cheap wine. Wine that probably cost £3 a bottle. Rip off"
  • "worst pizzas i had in a long long time, really strange that some people say they are good, maybe i was there on a wrong day or something, there was almost nothing on it, a bad dough, tasteless ingredients... and expensive, mostly for what they were."

Value

Pros:

  • "+ 2-for-one pizza (£13) + £22 for 2 beers & 2 pizzas."
  • "Lunch for under £10 in 2023 is indeed a rare find."
  • "Pizza 2 for 1 all the time. Can't argue with that. Really decent pizza."
  • "Pizzas are cheap in the 2 for 1 and one of the best pizzas you'll get in Glasgow."
  • "The portions are huge and great value for money, a great find."
  • "Fantastic service staff always on the go plenty of pizza on menu pizza absolutely amazing and the beer is excellent definitely value for money and definitely be back in the future."
  • "The soup and sandwich deal or the half pizza and fries deal are definitely worth every penny."

Cons:

  • "I felt the bar overpriced for what it is."
  • "Love the selection of beers but they are overpriced."
  • "Only problem is some of the beer is a rip off, as its triple the price and more for some that are available easy and cheap in shops."
  • "They are currently selling their pizzas for £8 each if you buy them separately. So their famous staple of '2 for 1 pizzas' (£16) doesn't quite make sense."
  • "Cost me almost £9 for a pint and a half pint fruit juice full of ice."
  • "Very expensive and not very friendly staff been asked to be quiet a few times, was in with my wife and another couple the conversation might have been as noisy as the atmosphere, felt we didnt fit in 😔."
  • "Great selection of beers, but hard to find a pint for less than £5."
