  • "The store is very organized, clean."

  • "Visited on a monday evening. The store was very clean and tidy, much improvement to other stores within the UK."
  • "Shop is also reasonably tidy for how busy it is."
  • "I love this branch. It is huge, spread out over 5 floors, so, yes, it's busy, but you never feel overwhelmed, plenty of space."

Cons:

  • "The shop is scorching hot, like an absolute jumble sale."
  • "Very busy, can be hard to move around. And with a buggy it's almost impossible to move through the waves of people."
  • "The clothes racks are quite close together so when it's busy you find yourself having to squeeze by people so it's not the most accessible space on the shopfloor."
  • "Its is layout is totally disjointed you spend more time walking in circles for elevators and waiting in huge queues for under manned tills than you will actually do any shopping."
  • "The store in huge, heating was too much tho. Great choice and departments. It was a nightmare getting to one particular department, no way of getting there unless you went down lots of stairs."
  • "Poor ventilation and gets very hot. Checkouts in the Home department (first floor rear), Work/fashion (first floor front), and Childrenswear (Third floor) are closed and there are often really long queues at the tills that are open."
  • "I usually can't stand Primark, I take 1 step in and it's too hot, the lighting is wrong, it's too busy, and it's a state."

Customer Service

Pros:

  • "Staff are nice and helpful."
  • "Checkout staff was friendly."
  • "Staff have always been pleasant, especially at the pay desks, where queues can be long but generally move quickly."
  • "Unlike more expensive shops (Marks & Spencer), the staff at Primary took an active interest in my needs & actively sought to help me."
  • "One very helpful and friendly member of staff called Lyndsey deserves special mention for helping me find a particular size of t-shirt when I couldn't locate it on the shelf."
  • "The staff were really friendly and nice."
  • "The staff are very pleasant and helpful throughout the store."

Cons:

  • "Essentially a commercial Police state. When using the self service kiosk. Had to wait for a 'random check'."
  • "Manager refused to change them for 'health and safety ' regulations due to Covid when shop doesn't follow right procedures."
  • "Absolutely awful customer service. A big queue with three of the women staff stating ‘I’M NOT SERVING’ to customers."
  • "The staff don't look happy and trying to get a size large t' shirt was impossible."
  • "The staff is good, but sometimes staff looks like boring at customers."
  • "The staff were kind of rude sometimes, like they wouldn't apologize if they bumped into you on the floor."
  • "Absolute rude staff and condescending manager in their children's wear section."

Pros:

  • "Everyday essentials, including home accessories, tech gadgets and stationery are also available at affordable prices!"

  • "Good for low-priced clothing. Some nice stuff, such as thermal underwear at a fraction of the price charged on other stores."
  • "This is a great store on several floors with clothing for everyone at affordable prices."

Cons:

  • "Quality is getting lower, not much variety (only black and white colours of pure cotton t-shirts and no regular jeans, all of them skinny or slim fit) and price is increasing."
  • "Maybe was just my bad luck but they didn't have much choice in my granddaughters sizes."
  • "Visited the shop again today to see it was literally as empty as ever from stock."
  • "Was looking for clothes for my girls returning to school. Found nothing suitable. No white blouses or black trousers."
  • "Okay for cheap holiday wear I guess but don't expect it to last much more than a fortnight."
  • "They are terrible and give false information I got Jean at size 16 no way did they even fit and am actually a 14 so I got my friend who is a 12 and they just fitted her but marked a 16 then because they were in a sale I could not return them for an exchange or refund was very angry 50 pounds on jeans that fit just lying here."
  • "The quality of the clothes isn't great but that's the trade off for the cheap prices."

Accessibility and Convenience

Pros:

  • "When you leave, you can easy to get a bus stop outside."
  • "There is a public restroom, lots of changing rooms, and plenty of staff to ask questions too."
  • "The store has four floors broken down by department. They have checkout counters on every floor which made checking out easy."
  • "Floor guide to what's on each level if you want a quick trip, escalators and lifts for easy access."
  • "Has multiple floors all dedicated to different items and finally a cafe on the top floor with window views of the Edinburgh Castle."

Cons:

  • "I went to primark and had look round but when I asked a member of staff to use there customer toilet they told me they were out of order for a big store like that you would think the toilets would be open."
  • "It's a very busy spot, especially for wheelchair users. Long queues at the cashiers, and no concessions for wheelchair users who are made to join the long queue to make payments."
  • "Disabled... No chance of getting to that department unless you went outside the main door and round the street to the lower level."
  • "Most of the checkouts are self checkout the only manned checkout i could find was cash only."
  • "In store toilets and fitting rooms now closed to the public due to Covid-19."
  • "But when I wanted to go down and leave, they closed off the escalator that takes you down."
  • "The escalators feel unsafe (the hand rail leap and jerk at a different rate to the steps)."
