Food Quality

Pros:

  • "Delicious food at a reasonable price."
  • "The food is great and they serve up a home made cereal which is streets ahead of anything you can get from the major cereal makers."
  • "Had a fantastic lunch; comprising of the catch of the day in beer batter, chips and mushy peas."
  • "Food is great too."
  • "Had fish and chips which was amongst the best I've had anywhere. Batter to die for."
  • "Dinner at The Ship Inn, a delicious crispy batter coating succulent and flaky fish."
  • "The catch of the day, with amazing chips and homemade tartare sauce was the best I've ever tasted."

Cons:

  • "Worst Sunday lunch ever. Potatoes and Yorkshire pudding had been cremated, black as coal."
  • "The chicken that I've ordered was little bit dry."
  • "Food was quite poor, we ordered two Cornish pasties which did specify on the menu that they were small but the size of the ones we received was ridiculous and did not live up to the cost."
  • "The ‘Catch of the Day’ was battered and rubbery."
  • "The food was awful, the mash potato seemed dry and old and everything was microwaved for sure! My husband's fish was disgusting, smelled horrible."
  • "Very poor we had Sunday lunch it was cold and we sent it back."
  • "The burger was rubbery and made from very poor quality meat, so bad that we simply put them in the waste bin."

  • "Perfect views from our superior room."
  • "Lovely stay in a small room right across the street from the small harbor."

Cons:

  • "I'm sure the other rooms are lovely... but the one we got was tiny a bit scruffy and has zero view."
  • "Views from our room were gorgeous but we could only open the window a few cms so the room was quite warm and stuffy."
  • "Rooms rate 4 stars - not their fault...it's a very old building."
  • "However, we were in room 4 and could hear talking from the pub downstairs and banging from doors."
  • "It looked like the crack in between the seats and the backrest had never seen a vacuum cleaner, full of food and hair."
  • "Only issue was the changing facilities for the little one in the bathroom meant I blocked all access for the loos but that could perhaps be amended."
  • "Left my ray bans in the pub, i called them and they said they would hold on to them for me until i can make it back, but someone from the pub has obviously stolen them as they were not there when I went back to the pub."

Value for Money

  • "Booked for valentines & stayed in the 'stargazy room' it was fantastic, the bed was super comfortable with a wonderful view of the harbour."

  • "Everything is overpriced and the starters are small."
  • "Food portions are really poor for the extortionate prices."
