Teapot Museum
Pros:
"Wanted to visit the tea pot museum for ages, definitely worth a visit, over 8000 Tea pots and all so different and colourful, covering all sorts, difficult to describe so definitely worth a visit, you don't have to like teapots, china or tea to enjoy."
"The teepot museum was amazing."
"A really great place if you love teapots, it has a museum of 8000 teapots!"
"The Teapot shop and collection is well worth a visit."
"Lovely place for Teapots and if kids love painting. It has a wonderful collection of around 8,450 types of teapots spanning over a century in collection."
"It is in a lovely location as well as having more sizes, shapes and types of teapots you could ever imagine; from the historical to the whimsical."
"The Teapot collection was amazing!!! Never have I seen so many and such a variety!!!"
Cons:
"Drove along from Canterbury to see this attraction but no access to the premises."
"You do have to pay for parking and you have to pay to go in to the teapot museum."
"The 'free entry' aspect is misleading."
"You have to pay to go into the teapot expedition which we was unaware of."
"Exhibition was closed."
"Run down and lacks magic that the title of ‘Teapot Island’ suggests. Really disappointing."
"Enjoyed the display of teapots, but could have had some better sorting."
Café and Food
Pros:
"The breakfast was one of the best I've had in ages and being a biker I get to try loads!"
"Lovely food, ploughman’s lunch and soup. Take away cream tea by request."
"The food at the café was freshly cooked, even though there was a wide choice."
"Full breakfast came reasonably quickly and tasted good. Price bordering on high."
"Really affordable for all, a great day out!"
"Friendly. Loved my tuna Mao sandwiches hubby had breakfast which he enjoyed."
"Stopped for breakfast in the lovely cafe, very busy, but the food and portions were good."
Cons:
"Whilst it’s great to have tea in a tea pot, it also needs to taste of tea. The teas were like dishwater."
"Food took 1hour for bacon Baggett and egg on toast was cold and over cooked."
"The food was alright, but we thought it was overpriced."
"Food quite good but neither omelettes or crepes available, although on menu - 'as they are too busy'."
"Food order took an hour to come out!"
"Poor service. Waiting time for English Breakfast was over 50 minutes."
"The food was lovely but for the four of us was nearly £60 which seemed a bit expensive just for a cafe so I'd advise to take a picnic or even a bbq to save money."
Staff and Service
Pros:
"Friendly Staff and a unique experience."
"Excellent service from polite staff."
"We were served by friendly, accommodating staff."
"Staff are friendly, dogs are allowed in the conservatory if they are on a lead."
"The service for our coach load was excellent with everyone very friendly and welcoming."
"Staff in shop and cafe are awesome with a smile on their faces."
"The staff were all very attentive and the place was really clean."
Cons:
"However there were two older members of staff in the cafe that were quite rude."
"Cafe looks 'tired', Waiting staff excellent but mature chap taking the orders was very grumpy & unhelpful."
"Unfortunately a very disappointing visit staff were very rude, unhelpful and had no customer skills."
"Staff were miserable and stressed."
"Very overpriced drinks and icecreams. Staff weren't particularly friendly."
"The owner would rather shout for his staff to come serve people that get up and serve himself. Very odd atmosphere."
"Disappointed as staff had gone home despite being advertised as open."
Location and Facilities
Pros:
"A very nice place for picnics and space for dogs to run around, the weir is pleasant enough and fun for the children when supervised."
"Worth a visit to just sit by the riverbank and watch the world go by.."
"Lovely little place with playground for children and an ice cream stall."
"It's a great place to come for a day out. The tea pot museum is just hilarious to walk round and see so many creative ways to pour tea."
"Good children's play area. Excellent service."
"Big open space next to the island, great for picnics and letting the kids run wild."
"Lovely sunny seating area on the edge of the river with plenty of inside seating if needed."
Cons:
"A nice place to visit .. but you need to either park in a field next door at £3.. or a long walk if you park on the road for free."
"The car park is expensive, pay on entry, £3.50."
"Very costly cup of coffee or tea if that's your drink."
"The car park is expensive, pay on entry, £3.50 then the café is expensive in my opinion, so altogether it's quite pricey."
"The carpark is a grass field just over a bridge (or before it depending on which way you come to the island)."
"The parking access is a bit strange. You need cash at the barrier on entry."
"Because of the latter, it's doubtful I'll be returning with the younger members of my family."
