Visitor Centre & Parking

Pros:

  • "Great visitor centre with helpful staff. Reasonably priced car park which I'd recommend using instead of cluttering the road with cars which destroy the verges."
  • "The visitor's centre is the main car park, get there early as it fills up."
  • "Convenient car park and visitor centre, £5 for a day parking good value."
  • "Malham visitor centre is the starting point for many lovely walks. Plenty of parking at a reasonable cost and two EV charger points."
  • "The visitors centre and car park are good, with the centre selling a good selection of local maps."
  • "The National Park centre at Malham is well kitted out, with WiFi access available on the benches outside, 24/7 toilets which are kept in good condition and a nice outdoor seating area for picnics or snacks."
  • "Good sized car park, but fills up early. Toilets clean. Parking prices very reasonable."

Cons:

  • "The toilets were filthy, I guess because it was busy."
  • "Toilet can have a long queue at busy times but there are 2 public conveniences in the village in total."
  • "Parking can get a bit tricky in summer due to the popularity of Malham Cove but there is enough parking along the nearby road for overspill cars."
  • "Parking was full shortly after we arrived at 10:30 which shows how popular the place is even on a winter's Sunday morning."
  • "Car park at the visitor centre can get very full unless the opposite field is open for parking."
  • "Baby change facilities were poor however- just a dirty shelf in the toilets too close to the hand dryers."
  • "Parked my car here for the day & my only complaint was the toilets."

  • "Absolutely beautiful part of the UK, green for miles and sideways rain... Yorkshire always delivers."
  • "Beautiful, stunning scenery."

Cons:

  • "It's a shame the weather wasn't on our side but the views over the dales are gorgeous."
  • "The stairs can be bit of a put off and can be hard to climb if it is raining."
  • "Visited at the end of the summer drought and found the water fall a trickle of brown water."
  • "Wonderful walks and wonderful scenery the only issue we had was that there was so many people there it was overcrowded and difficult to keep our distance."
  • "Great place but let down by lots of litter and in particular someone who likes to put up red plastic tub lids with 'instructions' for what not to do... along with copious quantities of barbed wire..."
  • "It was crowded, and we were directed to a route that was supposedly pram friendly. It wasn't."
  • "The only negative I can highlight is the serious lack of use of the Dale's car park!!"
