  • "Excellent clean facilities, great views very large pitch great customer service."
  • "Looks like toilets, showers etc have recently refurbished."
  • "Beautiful little Campsite with lovely modern facilities, very clean & well looked after."

Cons:

  • "The soap in toilet & shower block we used wasn’t refilled for the 3 nights we were there."
  • "Facilities were often unclean and they weren’t big enough to accommodate the number of people."
  • "Used cheap toilet paper so it was wasted and littered the toilet cubicles."
  • "Showers in main gents block don't drain/slope into guttering below shower head. This results in shower water running back across drying area into main toilet area. No where dry to stand to get dried and dressed."
  • "We found each toilet block had very wet, dirty floors most of the time despite being cleaned."
  • "Facilities could have been a little bit cleaner."
  • "Shower blocks of course had lots of grass brought in from outside."

Staff & Service

Pros:

  • "Everyone on site looked happy to work there and help us enjoy our stay, 1st class ambassadors for the park 👍."
  • "Staff very polite and helpful."
  • "Very friendly staff from arrival at reception and throughout stay."
  • "Really nice staff who were so helpful when our awning blew away while we were out for the day."
  • "Very friendly helpful staff too, thanks UHP."
  • "Friendly, helpful staff."
  • "Staff were very friendly and helpful."

Cons:

  • "Overall the trip was ok, we probably won’t return due to the T&C restrictions - it’s very discriminatory to those with ill health and travel insurance is basically non existent for short tent trips."
  • "Reported to reception who said they would monitor it, but they didn't."
  • "We couldn’t find any emergency contact when there was an incident on the site."
  • "People pitched extremely close to each other, the campsite didn't check either."
  • "Next doors dogs barked for hours on end. Noisy bar cooler compressor 50 yards from pitch."
  • "Although the bar was nice feature the price for a pint was a bit extreme £5.50 and its only open 8-10.30 I believe."
  • "Unfortunately we were let down by the park’s T&Cs that are poorly worded."

Location & Views

Pros:

  • "The location is great for exploring this part of the Lake District."
  • "The location was lovely, with spectacular views of the lake and hills."
  • "Beautiful scenery of Ullswater Lake & the Fells from where we pitched our tent."
  • "The location was great making it a short drive from some tourist attractions and walking paths."
  • "Just a stone's throw away from the park is Pooley Bridge, a charming small town that adds another layer of convenience to your stay."
  • "Well located for many popular lakes villages."
  • "Great location for visiting sights of the northern lakes."

Cons:

  • "Just to be aware the roads aren’t the safest/best to walk along from the site to Pooley Bridge as there aren’t any paths."
  • "Our pitch was very open to the elements and the wind was very strong when we stayed which meant we had to take our awning down all the other pitches would of been fine."
  • "Only downside is wifi was not available at the top of the site furthest from reception where we were staying."
  • "Quite far from ullswater lake, and we didn’t have a car just our motorhome."
  • "Walking a bit prohibited due to major roads."
  • "The location of site is up a steep hill. This site is best suited to people with a car because when you get to bottom of road you have to tackle busy road to get to the lake."
  • "Quite a (hilly) walk to get anywhere if you don't have a car."

Pros:

  • "The coffee shop was great, as was the games room/bar in the evenings."
  • "The playground was great fun including the zip line for adults."
  • "The chippy on site was also great for an easy dinner."
  • "The fish and chip shop is a must, bit if a queue but the best fish and chips I’ve had, well worth it!"

Cons:

  • "The bar only opens at 8pm which is a bit late for younger kids."
  • "Pub only opens at 8pm."
  • "Kids playing on the park past 10pm noisy until about 11:30 pm with the creaking of the swings."
  • "Very noisy in the evening. Music until 10:30pm, two very loud cars driving past at 1:15am and a group of boys with a speaker walking past the footpath about 1:30am."
  • "Bar and games room could do with a face-lift. And shame the cafe didn't do food (especially bacon butties)."
  • "Site has a bar/games room and chip shop which is overpriced and only open for 3 hours 5pm-8pm at night."
  • "Being near the children's play area can be very loud, from early morning right into the evening."
