  • "The staff went above and beyond and were very helpful to explain to me what items on the menu were vegan."
  • "Many thanks to Melisa and Luka, the great staff! Luka made the birthday surprise very exciting for our friend with the song and lots of smiles :)"
  • "I went today and had rabbit for the first time and it came in a cream sauce. I also had some sour cherry cheesecake and it was delicious. 10/10"
  • "I recommend the dumplings (to be eaten with your hands!) and the badrijani, a starter of smoked aubergine and hazelnut paste!"

Cons:

  • "The waitress called me a liar and threatened to call the police. While I was talking to the police the waitress told me to get out, she did not want my money."
  • "Printed the receipt and slapped it on the table without saying anything."
  • "Waited - honestly, we timed it - 25 minutes before leaving as no one bothered to serve us."
  • "We had 2 of the roasted chicken that on the menu come with baby potatoes but the potatoes weren’t apparently included and the waitress said we should order a side."
  • "We complained at the end about the coffee to which the waitress just laughed but didn’t say anything."
  • "The food was poorly, tasteless and very badly cooked."
  • "The waitress took it back no problems after me saying something, and they didn’t charge us."
  • "Staff were a bit hostile."
  • "I ordered a cake and decaf coffee, charged £11! Turns out they charge for an extra shot if you want decaf which makes no sense."
  • "Really disappointing. They were busy and clearly understaffed. Waiters and kitchen evidently couldn’t cope."
  • "Service was Sturn, no smile and the food totally over priced."
  • "Not impressed, definitely not as nice as ClaphamSouth. Service was slow, not particularly friendly and wasn’t clear why we couldn’t just have a bit of salad with our pastry instead of heavily sauced peppers etc."
  • "Really bad costumer service, I’m not sure if this is only occurs during the week."

Food Quality and Taste

Pros:

  • "Food had an incredible flavor and definitely recommend trying Georgian alcohol once in a lifetime!"
  • "The food is freshly prepared, flavourful and comforting. Perfect for intimate meal or catch up over tea with a friend."
  • "The food itself was very tasty."
  • "Food is delicious but clearer expectation management, communication and a more competitive price point would improve things."
  • "The food is wonderful, very fresh and portions are generous."
  • "A very good choice of Georgian food specialities."
  • "I’ve tried the pork dumplings and spicy pork stew accompanied by a red dry wine. A slice of custard cream tart which is actually better for breakfast or tea."
  • "Some people might find the prices a bit too much but the amount of effort and quality dedicated into the food they make it’s worth it!"
  • "The food was really delicious! Pricey but very tasty."
  • "The food is really tasty and the Georgian menu is refreshing and exciting in the midst of Clapham’s not so exciting high street."
  • "Had an absolutely fantastic meal at The Georgian and looking forward to our next visit. Everything was spot on – delicious food, an excellent wine list, attentive and slick service and a gorgeous ambience."
  • "I had just been performing at the Bread and Roses Theatre and was looking for a place to eat with friends. It was quite late and the Georgian was very accommodating even though their kitchen was about to close."

Cons:

  • "The food was poorly, tasteless and very badly cooked. My stomach is still revolting thinking about it!"
  • "Had an almond croissant and cinnamon bun that felt was done two days ago."
  • "The food was tasteless and watery. I had the dumplings for main course and when these arrived I was astounded that someone in their kitchen felt it was acceptable to serve a plate of grey, tasteless, tough and unappetising plate of food."
  • "The food took forever and came out cold. RIDICULOUSLY over priced."
  • "Food was tasty but expensive and took a long time. Condescending staff that turns questions and conversations into a 'I want to be right' argument."
  • "For 1 of the mains we ordered the lamb stew with mashed potatoes as a side. When the food arrived on the table we realised that the meat was not lamb but it was pork and when I asked they said that in Georgia they usually mix lamb and pork in the stew."
  • "The food is really tasty and the Georgian menu is refreshing and exciting in the midst of Clapham’s not so exciting high street, but there are some teething issues with the service and the timings which really dampen the whole experience."
  • "The food was tasty but expensive and took a long time."

Ambiance and Atmosphere

Pros:

  • "Nice discovery on a rainy afternoon. Such a cozy place with really nice atmosphere."
  • "Such a charming restaurant, the setting is cosy and the attention to detail is great, down to the choice of cutlery and china."
  • "A small gem on the corner of Clapham Manor Road. Very pretty interior and amazing service."
  • "I always wanted to visit a Georgian restaurant and I was passing by and I found it. The staff are welcoming I felt like warmth and cosy."
  • "The building is beautiful, the staff are really helpful and friendly. The WiFi is very good if you're working."
  • "Great little place, stumbles upon it by accident and so glad I did. Food was tasty and staff were friendly and informative they were very happy to explain what each dish was and how to eat it."
  • "Popped in for tea and cake this afternoon and discovered something genuinely, gorgeously Georgian! Definitely on the list to come back and do the full menu justice. Staff immediately warm and welcoming, and an interesting menu on offer from the simple to adventurous."

Cons:

  • "Service was terrible. Food which supposed to be with nuts in accordance with Georgian cousins had none of the nuts and seasoning. Absolutely tasteless food!"
  • "This place was dirty, soulless and we were served by the most surly of waitresses who clearly didn’t want to be there."
  • "Comfortably the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant. Absolutely shocking service, having to wait 50 mins for a flat white and a pot of tea, food arrived lukewarm with sausage and tomato burnt."
  • "Looks can definitely be deceiving... Me and a friend were lured in by the Georgian's pretty interior, however, left throughly unimpressed."
  • "Bought an apple cake and a water and it came to almost £10. I was so shocked I thought there had been an adding up error … apparently not. The cake was very bland and definitely not worth over £5 for a very small slice. The prices were not clearly marked and I wouldn’t recommended this place."
  • "The most off putting feature is the temperature. It’s cold in there when you’re sitting for a while."

Value for Money

Pros:

  • "Some people might find the prices a bit too much but the amount of effort and quality dedicated into the food they make it’s worth it!"
  • "The Georgian is a hidden gem in Clapham. Three courses for £20."
  • "I always wanted to visit a Georgian restaurant and I was passing by and I found it. The staff are welcoming I felt like warmth and cosy."
  • "The food is really tasty and the Georgian menu is refreshing and exciting in the midst of Clapham’s not so exciting high street, but there are some teething issues with the service and the timings which really dampen the whole experience."
  • "I had just been performing at the Bread and Roses Theatre and was looking for a place to eat with friends. It was quite late and the Georgian was very accommodating even though their kitchen was about to close."

Cons:

  • "Lunch here was underwhelming. The food itself was very tasty. But £12 for cheese bread and a 40 minute wait was excessive."
  • "Extortionate - a cup of tea and a hot chocolate with a (stale) cake each cost £21.37 and that included a service charge that was automatically added (for 2 of us)."
  • "Not very impressed with the quality for the price. Had an almond croissant and cinnamon bun that felt was done two days ago."
  • "The food was poorly, tasteless and very badly cooked. My stomach is still revolting thinking about it! We had 2 of the roasted chicken that on the menu come with baby potatoes but the potatoes weren’t apparently included and the waitress said we should order a side, we ended up paying over £60 for 2 chicken dishes with potatoes and 2 diet cokes, what a rip-off!"
  • "We ordered 2 England breakfasts. Where the breakfast was cold the bacon was over cook and chewy similar texture to leather. The eggs had a very strange taste to them whether they were off or it was how they cooked them but wasn’t pleasant. The remainder of the dish was adequate but not for the cost of £13.95."
  • "I popped in for a quick takeaway lunch and although the food looked good, the spinach pastry was very tasteless and stoggy (I couldn’t finish it). I bought a chocolate éclair for the family to share that was okay, very rich and certainly not worth £6.50. There were no prices on the displayed food and I was utterly shocked when they told me the total. It was £15.50 for a pastry, eclair and a small cappuccino."
  • "Service was Sturn, no smile and the food totally over priced. I had a coffee and cake (Eclair) and a pastry. Almost £20!!"
  • "Very expensive for quality and size of food. Small cheese bread was tasty but 13.50 does seem extreme."
