Customer Service
Pros:
"Visited on Friday night 7.30pm approx with 13 year old son. Was in store for 45 minutes approx. My previous visits to sports stores have left me disappointed with customer service, but this visit was a breath of fresh air."
"We interacted with 6 staff members on the ground and 1st floors. All were professional, helpful and friendly."
"HUGE 'shout out', to Adnam, in Sports Direct, Oxford Street. Being a disabled woman, I always feel slightly 'a pain', when going in shops and trying things on. Went into Adnams shop, and from the off, the guy was a joy to meet. Friendly, helpful and considerate!"
"Asmaa in sports direct soho took her time to help me solve my problems."
"The managers and security are pretty organised cause they were able to help me find my lost glasses, good job on that one."
"The best service ever received! Even the security guard acted as the shop assistant to try and help me find some running gloves!"
"Good customer service in your London Oxford street store when i could actually find an available person."
Cons:
"Rather dull, crowded and with (underpayed?) rude staff."
"The worst sports store and chain that I've ever had the misfortune of visiting."
"Terrible staff and service. Don't go here unless you have a lot of time you want to waste."
"Though the customer service was good, the shoes I was recommended to buy was an older model, which turned out to be defective."
"And when I tried to return them, they don't give you a refund."
"worst branch! the poorest customer service!"
"Horrible customer service, a manager named Alex is the most horrible customer service manager i have ever met in my entire life."
Store Layout and Accessibility
Pros:
"This is the best sports direct I’ve been to. The store is so spacious and has great stock."
"The variety of products on display is truly outstanding, and it's so so big, I haven't even seen everything in the shop."
"One of the largest stores from the chain. Things are more organized, less cluttered and easier to find than in Lillywhites."
"Store is great with vast range of sports clothing."
"Classic sports direct location but extremely large and nice displays inside."
"Great and massive sized store with practically all brands of Sportswear and shoes...great choices...specially for sportspersons."
"Best selection of goods I've ever seen for a sports direct."
Cons:
"The sections are not easily detectable."
"Simply looking for sports shoes i was sent to the wrong floor and then had to wait 15 minutes before anyone acknowledged my existence."
"Confused layout due to multi shop linked inside. Only ground floor is wheelchair friendly."
"However, it has a very confusing layout and hard to find anything you need. They often have no additional sizes."
"This store is a mess. The racks are always in complete disarray and the staff aren’t helpful."
"It's a big store with plenty of stock however the staff were not of any help."
"Welcome to the most claustrophobic store in the world."
Pricing and Stock
Pros:
"They have good stuff at a good price."
"The stuff they sell isn't the latest or the best but probably the cheapest for the known brands they stock."
"Lots of sports clothes, sports shoes and different sports equipment at very good prices!"
"Some amazing prices on branded sportswear / casual wear."
"The options are plenty. Products from various brands are available in all price ranges."
"Great collection of brands and inventory."
"There is a specific type of jogging bottoms I like, and they got it, unlike all the other high street sports shops."
Cons:
"The delivery guy just threw my package into my neighbour's garden and snapped one funny looking photo as a proof of delivery."
"Staff in this store are infamous for being indifferent and non cooperative."
"Shop assistance had no ideas about the price of products."
"They think customers are stupid. Exactly the same item selling in store is often more expensive than their OWN website."
"If you are considering shopping in this place, beware because the price displayed on the tag is most likely not the one you will be asked to pay at the cashier."
"Be careful with this stores price tag. My daughter bought a pair of shoes and price was totally different then the display."
"Huge underground warehouse of cheap sporting goods, better deals can be found at the much larger Lillywhites (also SportsDirect) in Picadilly Circus, or online so worth shopping about once you've found your deal."
Return and Refund Policy
Pros:
"Online you've 2 weeks to return for refund, while in store NO REFUNDS WHATSOEVER; exchange/credit note only!"
"They did offer a voucher but its pretty useless since im not from UK."
"No returns of goods are allowed but you'll be offered a voucher or exchanges instead."
"This company also does not give refunds, just credit notes."
"Even with proof of purchase they make the task of exchanging items more or less unbearable."
"Turned out I needed to refund the item, but when I came back I was then told that they don't give money back, only in store credit."
"Unacceptable returns policy and no returns what so ever when it comes to faulty product (and you encounter it after a couple of days use)."
Cons:
"And when I tried to return them, they don't give you a refund."
"Avoid avoid, if you don’t like something or changed your mind and wanted a refund is impossible."
"Be careful, they don’t return your money if you return your shopping."
"after trying on a pair of Astro turf football boots and asking the store staff who helped me to leave it at the counter I went and bought it paying the amount. After coming home (Sri Lanka) I realized I was given 2 left boots instead of the one I tried on."
"Avoid avoid, if you don’t like something or changed your mind and wanted a refund is impossible."
"I wanted to exchange my toddlers shoes for a different design but everything I chose was not in stock."
"Not as good as it looks outside. Be aware of not refundable policy! No one warms you that there are no refund system just vouchers."
