Food Quality

Pros:

  • "The lamb is fabulous! Huge portions."
  • "Food was delicious and reasonably priced, though more than you might spend at a normal gastro pub."
  • "The food arrived quickly, was tasty and the portion size was big."

  • "Had really tasty Pork Belly, very nicely cooked and lots of it."
  • "The food was lovely and my small group enjoyed our meals."
  • "The food was great and the table we had reserved was cosy and next to a window."

Cons:

  • "In 15 years, worst food ever today....£21.95 for fish and chips that were hardly edible."
  • "The lamb roast was very average, not worth the £19 they charge for it."
  • "The beef pie was very disappointing - dry with not enough gravy."
  • "Fantastic pub but really awful food. Bland, tasteless & no love whatsoever(Sunday roast)."
  • "The remainder of the roast wasn't anything to write home about."
  • "The majority of the food was very nice with a few disappointing dishes/items such as 'seasonal vegetables' that was two different types of courgette served in oily water."
  • "The food was alright, I got the fish and chips and it was sub par at best."

Service

Pros:

  • "Staff super welcoming and friendly."
  • "Great hospitality and service from the friendly and attentive staff."

  • "Service was prompt and polite."
  • "Service was friendly and efficient despite it being absolutely packed in there."
  • "Katrina our server was courteous and did and gave great service."
  • "Service and staff top notch, all friendly helpful and lovely."

Cons:

  • "By the bar staff, we were treated well; by the wait staff, we were treated like a nuisance."
  • "It took us several minutes and effort to get the attention of the servers."
  • "But when the bill comes with 10% service included we were pressurised to add a further 10% tip so they'd benefit from their service."
  • "We sat there for 5 more minutes but we were completely ignored."
  • "Waited too long before anyone asked if we even wanted a drink, weren't given menus either."
  • "Even as they walk by, they should pay attention to the tables and possibly a guest looking for something."
  • "Walked in the door and staff just ignored at us for 5 mins, finally figured it wasn’t the ‘main’ door but really they should be better trained to direct customers."
