Game Mastering

Pros:

  • "Professor Shortstack was a great games master - committed to the story and kept things moving at just the right pace."
  • "Our guide Will was very helpful."
  • "Our host Bailey was great and super friendly, would definitely recommend for a fun activity!!"
  • "Right away, we were greeted by the fantastic Scooter and Dr. Ice, who played their roles to perfection."
  • "Our host Holly was amazing."
  • "Thank you to our host Cameron, he was really entertaining and helpful!"
  • "Our team of four were guided by our lovely host James, who was a splendidly friendly and in-character chap."

Cons:

  • "The customer service was appalling."
  • "The owner is exceptionally rude."
  • "Our guide’s English was a bit difficult to understand at times as he had a strong French accent but we saw it as a part of the challenge!"
  • "However it was ruined by the people running it. We had walky talkies to communicate with them and they would not stop telling us what to do."
  • "After this review we received a phone call not to apologise but to dictate."

Setting & Atmosphere

Pros:

  • "A fitting use of a disused tube station with immersive results."
  • "The Tube station setting is amazing."
  • "Many other escape room venues, while great, are rarely set in such historical locations."
  • "The fact it was underground made it that bit more authentic to the war theme."
  • "The location is amazing (the urban legend takes place in this closed train station)."
  • "Really fun experience especially as the venue is in an old disused tube station."
  • "The abandoned tube station is pretty iconic amongst tube aficionados, so it was great to see a little of it!"

Cons:

  • "It is a bit musty and cramped."
  • "A very dated building and not what you expect from the pictures."
  • "It was underground they had limited to no air conditioning."

Puzzles & Challenges

Pros:

  • "Gorgeous props and good codes, sometimes we didn't read instructions well enough, so there's definitely a lot of fine print to read, but we all enjoyed it and made it out in time!"
  • "The puzzles were intriguing enough but were never too baffling."
  • "I was really impressed with the puzzles, props, set and actors."
  • "The puzzles were very clever and were slightly difficult but very rewarding."
  • "The puzzles are diverse not extremely hard if you are experienced but strong enough to rack you brain at times!"
  • "Super challenging but not frustrating."
  • "The puzzles were just right - not too easy and not too difficult."

Cons:

  • "Game-wise it's very linear and I'd only recommend it as a 2-3 player game."
  • "The worst escape room I've done in London."
  • "We have done a lot of escape rooms before and they also had the very common issue of giving clues too generously and too eagerly, often when we weren't actually stuck, which in my opinion detracts from the fun and the experience."
  • "A lot of the puzzles we solved through guesswork."
  • "Puzzles aren't as intuitive as other escape rooms, leading to a reliance on hints from creators."
  • "There didn't seem to be much logic to solving the puzzles, a lot of button smashing rather than solving anything."
  • "The puzzle themselves weren't that good. They didn't involve much logic, most were basically just following instructions."

Overall Experience

Pros:

  • "10/10 will be back soon to solve Codebreakers and The Lost Passenger!"
  • "This is the best Escape room i have been to so far."
  • "Definitely recommended, but be ready to scream! (And smile about it when you tell others)."
  • "Really great fun! there are 2 room types to choose from."
  • "Best escape room I've ever done, amazing set design and compelling story!"
  • "Amazing experience! We did the lost passenger room which is a paranormal themed one with really cool rooms and an actual old train."
  • "Absolutely brilliant. Love it from start to finish."

Cons:

  • "Not for kids - I booked the Lost Passenger escape room for my son's 10yo party as it said from 9yo but all the kids found it really scary, had nightmares and hence did not like it."
  • "We do many escape rooms across the country and would not return."
  • "Honestly I have just experienced better venues in London."
  • "Only down side was no refund for the members who had to cancel a few days prior which I know is stated in the terms but still even 50% back would be something."
  • "It could use some more logic in the puzzle design rather than 'trying things out until they work'."
  • "Nice experience but wouldn't recommend if you're looking to solve puzzles."
  • "Puzzles that were present were generally long winded, convoluted and lacked a wow factor."
