Store Layout & Stock

Pros:

  • "I enjoy shopping at B&Q. B&Q has a wide range of flowers, the items are easily accessible and I like the layout."
  • "On the whole I like this shop it's got a vast amount of stock, it's easy to get around as there is plenty of space even for my mobility scooter."
  • "Loved this place. The shelves fully stocked - wood and everything."
  • "I would say that every thing I have needed for my projects, I can get from B&Q."
  • "Good for most DIY items and tools."
  • "A massive DIY store with a huge selection of furnishings and fittings."
  • "Huge warehouse of a place with a wide range of products from screws to garage doors."

Cons:

  • "This was my worst experience in the UK. This superstore is much worse than I could imagine."
  • "Complete nightmare at the moment trying to find what you want as they are reducing the size of the place to almost half it's size."
  • "Unfortunately, unlike most other building/ DIY suppliers, shelves are completely empty and stock is often unavailable."
  • "For such a large store there still seems to be shortages in departments."
  • "This store has got a lot smaller recently. The range stocked has reduced significantly."
  • "Now they have downsized it is very hard to find your way round as the shelving is such that you nearly always hit a dead end."
  • "Shop layout confusing - what's with all the dead ends?"

Value & Pricing

Pros:

  • "Went to get keys cut. 3 keys for a tenner. Great value."
  • "They have a good selection of Christmas trees that won't break the bank."
  • "I use the trade point which gives me a bit of discount."

Cons:

  • "Also the prices have rocketed over £10 for a tube of skirting fixer needless to say went straight back on the shelf."
  • "Very very disappointing! All we wanted was a Christmas tree, that's it but B&Q made this a very difficult process."
  • "BnQ seems to have got exceptionally expensive post covid, the stock levels are poor, very rarely find what I need here."
  • "Hiked up prices and very limited stock make it unviable."
  • "Not cheap either - in fact quite expensive."
  • "Prices can be a little higher than others."
  • "Cut down size of the store in half, nearly £5 for 10 small washers."

Facilities & Services

Pros:

  • "Large car park, range of trollies, close to maccy d,s and KFC."
  • "They do have a wood cutting service which is great as some of the wood I've bought wouldn't have fit in my car!"
  • "Staff are helpful and plenty of tills, even self service which was easy to use."

Cons:

  • "Then to top it all off we got a parking ticket for spending too long!"
  • "Now it's reduced to just one rather dirty disabled stall, with no hot water and a non functioning hand drier."
  • "However after going there twice in one day i was fined £100 for parking 9 and a half hours there."
  • "Phoned the previous day asking if they provide wood cutting service. They told me yes by phone. The following day I brought my plywood board to be shortened and was told that they cut only the wood sold on site."
  • "Used to have large clean customer toilets..."
  • "Shop layout confusing - what's with all the dead ends?"
