Pros:

  • "One of the best services I've ever been to !!"
  • "What a brilliantly well kept service station .. lovely clean toilets with lockers and shower facilities."
  • "Toilets were really clean as well."
  • "One of the cleanest service stations I've ever visited, plenty of space for a dog to stretch their legs."
  • "The toilets and baby changing rooms are always clean, even with hundreds of people going in and out on busy days."
  • "The place is spotless."
  • "Very clean, modern facilities with several seating areas indoors and out."

Cons:

  • "Dirty toilets with water running over the floor from some."
  • "The toilets are POORLY placed for disabled people."
  • "The only thing I didn’t like was the fact that the toilets were right at the back which meant a long walk past the various eating establishments."
  • "For a new services the toilets are a disaster."
  • "The services were as usual well equipped clean and tidy. Sadly KFC sold me a chicken fillet burger that did not look or taste right."

Facilities for Families and Children

Pros:

  • "There's a surprisingly large soft play area for kids."
  • "Indoor and outdoor play area for children!"
  • "Great modern services. Children's play area, excellent idea."
  • "Includes a playground and soft play area for the children."
  • "Lovely clean service with great facilities! We mostly travel with a baby and a child so to have a soft play and playpark worked well."
  • "Really nice service station, with free wireless changing seating pods."
  • "Amazing services stop. We literally plan our holidays around stopping here. Perfect spot between our home in Suffolk and trips to the Cotswolds, Peak District, Wales, and Cornwall. The indoor playground is large enough to accommodate even the large rush on big holiday weekends (most recently we passed through on Easter weekend)."
  • "Great place to stop. Nice and clean. Lots of different food and drink options from Costa, M&S, WHSmith, Burger King and more. There is an indoor small soft play area for children, showers and toilets."

Cons:

  • "Toilets were a long way from the main entrance and, given their young age, not in the best state of repair."
  • "Could really use some disabled toilets nearer the entrance, maybe a separate rest area for the truckers too."
  • "Visited on 19/10, it's a great services, my daughter really enjoys playing in the indoor soft play. It's just a shame that irresponsible parents allow their kids into the soft play who are coughing and clearly unwell."
  • "The outdoor play area was closed because of damage, which is very sad. It might be on a motorway, but the view was lovely from the dog walk."
  • "The toilets and baby changing rooms are always clean, even with hundreds of people going in and out on busy days. Best services spot we've ever seen."
  • "Absolutely the best services known to man, with everything you could possibly ask for. Plenty of food options, very well maintained toilets and brilliant baby changing stations (although could do with a few more)."
  • "Really nice site. Hate the fact you are treated like a criminal at the petrol station. Head office down the road, Van is branded with logo etc. you want my card before I fuel up. Telling me it’s the law is a load of rubbish! It’s not law it’s your stupid rule and it’s discrimination."
  • "Brilliant services for families- great facilities with lots of choice for food, microwaves, plenty of baby change rooms as well as family rooms. Great addition of a soft play area and seating for parents."

Food and Drink Options

Pros:

  • "The Pret A Manger in party had tasty selection of food and the staff were very welcoming and pleasant."
  • "I also had a lot of options to choose from for food, from burgers and pizzas to salads and sandwiches."
  • "Great modern services. Plenty of eateries, open spaces."
  • "One of the nicest service stations I've been to. I initially stopped here on my way to my destination and I liked it so much that I planned my way back with this as my rest stop. It has lots of seating and food choices from things like Greggs, Burger King to Pret A Manger and Costa."
  • "I had a cookie and white coffee for £2.90 at Gregg's. Costa latte was showing £££3.70!"
  • "Nice services, first time I've used here. Plenty of places to eat, with a great Marks and Spencers store."
  • "Impressive service station with spacious landscaping. I had a cookie and white coffee for £2.90 at Gregg's. Costa latte was showing £££3.70! Plenty of other eateries and places to get snacks and drinks."
  • "One of the best service stations you will ever experience 1st class experience, such a clean place with so many choices of foods to eat makes most places look shabby and fantastic helpful staff, definitely a returning customer."

Cons:

  • "Clean & nice seating areas to relax during a drive. Very very busy so wait for food is a long time. KFC had over 30 people in the queue & a man I spoke to had been waiting over 15 minutes in the queue so we decided not to have food from there."
  • "Tried both burger King ( they had no drinks they could sell us, they did have drinks for take away customers but we couldn't have those ????? ) So went to kentucky only two of the electronic menus were working , gave up and drove another 15 mins to a maccies, which had food , drinks, and a good attitude to serving their customers."
  • "Giving this place just 1 star as its retailers are all quite useless. I'm allergic to dairy, and not one of them had anything vegan for sale (M&S, Greg's, Costa, Pret a Manger. Dairy was in everything. Crisps or fruit was all they could offer. Very poor."
  • "We visit services all over the country. Burger King were rude. Walked of while we were talking. So we went to Gregg's instead. And then Gregg's got all shouty after care declined. Very disappointed. Won't be coming to this one again."
  • "The only complaint was that there were not a lot of options in some of the shops (probably due to lack of deliveries as we went on 2nd Jan). And the Burger King employees were a rude."
  • "Brand new but no provision for motorhomes - no service point (waste water and CDP) and no bays 5x8m. Why are we overlooked? Electric points for e-cars but none for touring motorhomes who would stopover all year round if prices were reasonable and services were provided."
  • "The M&S is pretty good, the rest of the outlets are average and expensive which is the norm for these places. The road layout is not very good. Access and exit is via J1 M6 which is controlled by traffic lights."
  • "Ok service station, clean and good range of food options. Excellent for charging electric vehicles, only one of the charging stations was broken. One issue was that it reserves a small amount on your card and then stops when that is used up, doesn't allow you to adjust this."

Parking and Accessibility

Pros:

  • "Parking was OK. Signage and lanes for getting out were a bit tricky to see and a little confusing to navigate."
  • "Actually an alright services for the M6. Very spacious both inside and out."
  • "Plenty of car parking spaces."
  • "Stopped here to use GRIDSERVE chargers. The charger side was fantastic, achieving 200kw charging."
  • "Clean service station, lots of parking, and liked that to park its driving around one way in circuits makes it safe."
  • "- Clean - spacious - bright - Lots of car park spaces. - Lots of EV chargers."
  • "This is definitely one of the best motorway services around. Immediate impression of cleanliness and efficiency. Products are the usual ‘UK motorway’ expensive but its facilities are consistently above average. It has an enormous BP fuel station with its own Greggs concession saving a long walk to the main facility."
  • "Surprisingly excellent! All you could need, with kids and dogs exercise area. Big car park. Big open-plan building with multiple franchises and (almost) enough places to sit. Toilets are located a bit of a walk away."

Cons:

  • "Toilets were a long way from the main entrance."
  • "Only complaint is, it's a bit of a rigmarole getting to it from M6 and getting back on M6 afterwards."
  • "Watch out! Read through: Not recommended for short stopover. This place has everything and also ample parking with refueling options. Just that getting out took me 90mins due to Coaches and Trucks scrambling to get out all at the same time."
  • "Isn't this the best service station in the UK, and surely one of the best in Europe. It's huge, it's busy and it's beautiful. I SIMPLY CAN'T BELIEVE THIS SERVICE WAS NOT EVEN CONSIDERED FOR THE UK'S BEST SERVICE STATIONS AWARD!!!"
  • "If you want to take a brand new service station out for a spin go no further that here. Coming down the M6 and heading for the delights of the A14 stop here. Coming off the A14 from Felixstowe heading North stop here, its brill, new clean tidy play area, new outdoor seating fantastic."
  • "If you have a fear of rats don’t come here at night! I’ve seen 4 in 5 minutes in the car park - gross- never seen it like this at any other services and I use them all a lot. Place is riddled with them."
  • "It's a nice parking space, it has just been opened a few weeks ago. The only thing I don't like it's that the back stopper is very closed to the face and you need to be very careful when you reverse your trailer on that patch you could easy damaged the fence."
  • "My stop halfway through England en route to Holyhead perfect spot to catch a break and relax a bit while on the road. Especially with the dog. There's a dog walking area with grass. Several food points and just a big parking lot load. Restroom area is nice very big and maintained well"
