Food Quality

Pros:

  • "With our daughter being one year old, she's quite impatient when it comes to waiting for food. The staff and kitchen were very accommodating in bringing her food out first."
  • "I had the butchers brunch and honestly the food was amazing."
  • "We both had the dirty chicken burger, thick well cooked buttermilk breast and the Mac and cheese fritter was so cheesy."
  • "I chose the Rib Eye cooked medium, with fries and added Garlic Mushrooms. It was actually really tasty, well seasoned and cooked."
  • "We had three different meals and all were excellent. I went for the brunch version of a full English breakfast and it was superb."
  • "The bacon and sausage were cooked well and tasted great. The beans were hot and good Taste to them and the sour dough toast was delightful."
  • "The food options are brilliant and very, very tasty based on what we've had so far."
  • "Food was beautiful and service really polite and friendly."

Cons:

  • "I had the gluten free burger and was a little disappointed - the bun wasn't very nice, the burger wasn't tasty, the fries were over cooked and very greasy."
  • "Had the burger and chips, chips were cold. Burger was just average for the price I would go to a fast food place probably better."
  • "The food, sadly was well under par and much better choices in the area."
  • "The tapas three for £14 was tiny with the salt and pepper squid having four thin rings and the sesame chicken having three small pieces. There was no value for money for the tapas."
  • "For a restaurant that has gone to great lengths for a decor that has character, I’m afraid that’s all there is positive here. Nothing worth revisiting for here the menu is a bit of a mashup."
  • "My chicken, bacon and avocado burger was well cooked and arrived hot as did the sweet potato fries. Both were delicious. My chocolate brownie and ice cream was well presented and also tasted delicious."
  • "Buttermilk chicken with a soaking underside and a heavy dripping of oil. Pretty dire taste with the actual chicken being dry inside which is surprising considering the amount of oil that formed in the plate."
  • "The food was lovely and the service was very good but I was disappointed by the way I had to rush my final drink as the restaurant was closing for a private function."

Service

Pros:

  • "Service was polite without being chatty or friendly."
  • "The restaurant was busy but very well staffed, so the service was attentive without being overbearing."
  • "Service also amazing and the atmosphere is a calm ambience which was a romantic spot for lunch time."
  • "You always feel a bit “billy no mates” on your own at this type of place but I was made to feel welcome."
  • "The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive making for great service from the moment we arrived to the moment we left."
  • "I have to say I was very impressed with the way I was treated the person who served me deserves a lot of praise."
  • "Really enjoyed my first visit here. Absolutely loved the decor and relaxed atmosphere."
  • "I had a friendly greeting upon arrival. The staff were nice throughout my visit."

Cons:

  • "Prime location with a poor experience. Our group booking was welcomed with an epically slow bar service."
  • "Waited for over an 1/2 hour for breakfast and the restaurant was not busy."
  • "The food was lovely and the service was very good but I was disappointed by the way I had to rush my final drink as the restaurant was closing for a private function."
  • "The service was a little slow but that didn't detract from the enjoy our meal."
  • "The service was incredible the staff did everything I asked for they were quick smiley and happy (amazing) the venue was beautiful, clean and cosy. But there was a let down, the food."
  • "Service and waiters were good. However they didn't really engage. Food times were good."
  • "The drinks were great, food was really good. But the customer service needs to improve. It took us 15 min to order dessert and another 20min to settle the bill."
  • "Food and pricing are good but the service needs sharpening up. Not even that busy. You have to order at the bar, which they forget to tell you about."

Ambience and Decor

Pros:

  • "The restaurant is near the base of the spinnaker tower. Recommend that you book ahead to get a table near the window to enjoy a great view."
  • "Service also amazing and the atmosphere is a calm ambience which was a romantic spot for lunch time."
  • "I like the interior design of the restaurant it gives it its own charm with the amount of paintings on the walls."
  • "I really enjoyed the atmosphere. I want to say it’s a bit like a posh version of a Wetherspoon’s."
  • "There is a really good choice of drinks and the menu isn't overrun with dozens and dozens of choices like you see at a lot of other places."
  • "Great place for gluten free options mean to many cosy clubs, taste was great however it was Luke warm and we tried to get a member of staff but when one was available we had eaten half of the meal."
  • "Really enjoyed my first visit here. Absolutely loved the decor and relaxed atmosphere."
  • "I had a friendly greeting upon arrival. The staff were nice throughout my visit. I have to say It was a nice place to be."

Cons:

  • "The ambiance of this place is loud, ok for some but not for all."
  • "It's quite large and cavernous and you'll strain to hear conversation over the general hubbub."
  • "I enjoyed the ambience and buttermilk stack more than the food to be quite honest."
  • "The party I was with enjoyed every minute here, and it's easy to see why. Beyond the antique, refined, gentleman's club interior lay a welcoming service."
  • "It was warm, but very loud to be considered cosy in my opinion."
  • "I felt like the tables were a bit more packed in than 'cosy'."
  • "For a restaurant that has gone to great lengths for a decor that has character, I’m afraid that’s all there is positive here."
  • "Nothing particularly to criticise but went in the lead up to Christmas and like most places Christmas menus for largish groups tend to be a compromise."
