Decor and Ambiance

Pros:

  • "I love the decor and the interior. It’s bright with vibrant colours and so instaworthy."
  • "First visit to Ivy Asia and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The decor really is quite something, they've really pushed the boat out in creating a gorgeous setting to dine in."
  • "The Ivy is located just outside the Victoria Quarter and has a gorgeous aesthetic on the outside that displays some floral decorations which are very popular for photos and selfies."
  • "Even a visit to the toilets was a nice experience, the decor just catches your eye everywhere you go."

Cons:

  • "It's very well decorated and I love how the staff have to dress. It's just a very confusing menu."
  • "The outside needs work, looks like Starbucks and fake flowers look a bit tacky, a shame because the inside is the opposite, tasteful & tropical."

Service

Pros:

  • "Customer service was fantastic."
  • "The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and very professional. They look and behave as if they are really enjoying their jobs."
  • "We had an evening meal with a table prebooked. The staff are incredibly well mannered and the atmosphere convivial."
  • "I can honestly say it was the best service I could imagine."

Cons:

  • "Service was on the slower side. They add an automatic 12.5% service charge to the bill, which I wouldn't have minded paying had the service been good."
  • "Service was very poor and we were charged £124 for the displeasure (2 steaks / 2 drinks and a service charge)."
  • "Service is on the whole impeccable (although can sometimes a little slow during busy periods)."
  • "Service was acceptable, although they sat people beside us, who were drinking heavily, while waiting to be seated in their reserved table which did ruin the atmosphere."

Food Quality

Pros:

  • "A great place for a special meal, Amazingly tasty food, and price for food not too bad."
  • "The food was excellent. Yes, it is more expensive than some, but, when you have finished, I defy you not to think it was worth every penny."
  • "Our second Anniversary meal at The Ivy, and once again a wonderful experience. From tasty pre-dinner cocktails at the bar to an exceptional meal."
  • "The food was amazing ,I had sirloin it literally melted in my mouth."

Cons:

  • "Unfortunately it was quite a mediocre experience. The food was average (which for the prices they charge is shocking)."
  • "For the mains we had the 8oz sirloin. One rare, one medium. The rare was on the bluer side of rare. The medium was well done, without a hint of pink."
  • "The smoked salmon starter was paper thin. The bread was incredibly dry and crumbly, snapping in half by picking it up."
  • "The food was a complete waste of money. The chicken and steak that were served to us were of low quality."

Value for Money

Pros:

  • "A lovely restaurant in the centre of Leeds. It's presented as being quite posh but is reasonably priced for the quality of service."
  • "We always have a great time in the Ivy Leeds. It's a great spot with exceptional service and food. The prices aren't ridiculous."
  • "Came here for lunch for our anniversary. The staff were very welcoming and it's a great atmosphere. We had the lunch set menu. This was great value for really good quality food."
  • "Tasty food - the midweek 2/3 course set menu is great value for money."

Cons:

  • "We went for the lunch time set menu which we thought was a great price that we could afford, but when we got there we were given the Festive set menu that was £50 or £55 which was £30 more than the menu we'd planned to have."
  • "Very, very expensive for what it is."
  • "My Anniversary celebration at The Ivy was delightful, reminiscent of our previous visit to the Harrogate location. The flavors were exceptional, but the portion sizes left us wanting more."
  • "Definitely a luxurious restaurant with fantastic service. However, the food does not justify the high prices."
