Food Quality

Pros:

  • "Seriously, if you haven't had the Pit Beast burger.. then you have not lived!!"
  • "In both cases the meat was superb, slow cooked and just fell away."
  • "The food here was absolutely brilliant, and is very good value for money."
  • "Regarding meat options I’ve had the burnt ends and the brisket - both of those were really tasty."
  • "The food was fantastic! Very tasty, very satisfying and good portion."
  • "All of it was delicious. The ribs was fantastic."
  • "Food has been absolutely amazing every single time!"

Cons:

  • "The saltiest food I'd ever eaten."
  • "I only tried their double cheese burger but it was pretty mediocre, two thin low cost patties, processed pre sliced cheese, bacon that was a little too chewy."
  • "While the staff were friendly and amicable, the food was tremendously disappointing. The ribs are flavourless and very dry, with a most unpleasant texture."
  • "Miserable BBQ. Brisket and burnt ends lacking in any flavour of either smoke or beef."
  • "Food was ok, some of the meats were a bit tough, didn't fall apart as I was expecting!"
  • "The kids burger was burnt not sure if it was beef or charcoal."
  • "Ribs were at least 50% fat, chicken starter was soggy and missing BBQ sauce described, pulled pork was incredibly tough and tasted mostly of mustard."

Service

Pros:

  • "The guy looking after us was incredible, nothing was too much trouble for him."
  • "Loved the food and the service."
  • "Matching the food was the staff who were very friendly and helpful."
  • "Service was great for a busy Friday night. Very attentive and quick delivery of the drinks!"
  • "Honestly the best service we have ever received!"
  • "All the team are friendly but Anna in particular was attentive, polite and very professional."
  • "Staff were friendly and quick service."

Cons:

  • "They didn't ask for allergies though and my wife almost ate something she's allergic to, since it wasn't listed in the ingredients on the menu."
  • "Very disappointing experience. Told we had 10 mins left when we had 20 and then given no option to move tables to finish our drinks despite sitting in an empty room."
  • "Service was good, but on the menu it says they will add 10% service charge, I don't agree with this, but to add 20% I assume cos it was fathers day was outrageous!"
  • "Service was a bit slow even though it wasn't that busy when we arrived."
  • "Staff - the servicing floor staff had their back towards customers and staring down majority of the time."
  • "Service was not remarkable so the extra 10% service charge snuck on as always put a meal for 2 at well over £80."
  • "Appreciate it was Saturday night but service was extremely slow and the food sub-par."

Atmosphere

Pros:

  • "Nice atmosphere and friendly service."
  • "Plenty of outdoor seating that’s perfect for a sunny day."
  • "This was a great place for me and my friends to catch up and have a bite to eat. The food was amazing and was very tasty."
  • "The general interior and vibe is good, plenty of space so you never feel cramped."
  • "Awesome vibe, great American menu and a lovely waiter/bartender."
  • "To be in a nice cozy place made it all the more pleasant."
  • "One big open bar allows for big group meals or for standing/mingling in the evenings. Nice outdoor area too."

Cons:

  • "When we arrived the place was fairly deserted and they tried to seat us next to the only other couple in there at a tiny table that was incredibly close."
  • "Unfortunately it was raining and everyone was squeezed inside which made it very loud."
  • "Disappointment this time with the very loud rock music but grateful that upon feedback it was able to be turned off in the area we were seated in out the back."
  • "Very cold sitting there and they couldn't shut the doors."
  • "The atmosphere was not quite there when I was there however, on a Friday or Saturday night it would be thriving."
  • "Atmosphere is odd. Very loud, it's ok with the lads, wouldn't want to take your Mrs for a nice meal!"
  • "Loud music and an industrial style of décor and recycled timber benches and tables make the atmosphere funky but the need to talk loudly to he heard escalated into a high level of background noise as our evening progressed."

Value

Pros:

  • "The food here was absolutely brilliant, and is very good value for money."
  • "Very filling and reasonably priced, too."
  • "Quality BBQ from a team that care about their process. They have even gone to compete in the USA. The brisket is amazing."
  • "Prices all very reasonable for the quality of the food."
  • "Good food at a reasonable price."
  • "Very decent portions & reasonable (about £16 for a very good burger & chips) & £10 for half a rack of lovely baby back ribs."
  • "Our first visit to the Craft and Cleaver, and probably not the last. We found the food and service very good, the portions were fine and well cooked and presented, and we all enjoyed our meal. Not the cheapest place to eat, but personally I thought it was value for money."

Cons:

  • "Frighteningly expensive, £11.60 for a pint of draft beer and a lager shandy!"
  • "In general I think the food is a little overpriced - particularly the salads."
  • "Food was reasonable quality, but for the price, I'd expect better."
  • "The food was not the best, overpriced in my opinion."
  • "Drinks are very pricey £3.60 for a can of soda not even in central London!"
  • "We found the food very expensive and unsatisfying."
  • "I feel 16 pound for a burger it should be absolutely perfect."
