  • "The apartment was spotlessly clean and well equipped."

Cons:

  • "Some really low points were stains on the bedding ranging from muddy footprints to what we suspected was blood."
  • "Our lodge hadn't been given the most thorough clean, there were sticky marks on the kitchen counters from previous drink spills and the toilet in the main bathroom smelled awful like it needed a good clean."
  • "The mattresses on the single beds certainly need replacing as they are very firm and lumpy."
  • "Under the sofa was disgusting, there were cornflakes under the table and rice on the tiny kitchen floor."
  • "The lodge we were in needs a refresh. The bath was chipped, the shower curtain was hanging off a broken rail."
  • "The lodges are now looking dated, tired and very worn out."
  • "The chalet needed a good scrub, looked under the couch didn't look like it had been cleaned."

  • "Unfortunately we found the restaurant staff to be quite rude and despite seeing plenty of empty tables, we were abruptly told there were no tables available."
  • "The staff (for the most part) were rude, obnoxious and argumentative."
  • "On 3 occasions I was left with a sour taste after staff had either been downright argumentative towards me, or negligent towards my concerns."

Value for Money

Pros:

  • "We go to whinfell every january for a cheap getaway with the children."
  • "It was fairly reasonable for an amazing burger and chips."
  • "The on site shop was good. Plenty of options and well priced."
  • "Dining out was not as expensive as I thought it was going to be also the on-site supermarket not really overpriced."
  • "Prices were still fairly high, however, with the 'outside world' being hit by a cost of living crisis, the prices at center parcs seemed a lot more reasonable this time."
  • "Center Parcs may not be the cheapest, but you get what you pay for. Excellent accommodation, friendly staff, excellent food and spotless facilities."
  • "The grandchildren having been here before and tried most of the activities surprisingly the only three that they wanted to do again this year were the bowling which was good value."

Cons:

  • "Food and drinks are a bit expensive so if there are a few of you it can be costly to eat/drink out."
  • "Charging £6.50 for a pint of Carling, that you can get in Penrith for £3.40 is ludicrous."
  • "Have to agree with most on here the price for food and drink is nothing short of ridiculous!! £4.50 for a large Pepsi max and £6.95 for a pint of cider is daylight robbery."
  • "Prices on site are absolutely appalling, significantly more expensive than last year."
  • "It can be very expensive if you eat out and want to try the activities as they are all extra apart from the swimming."
  • "The activities are very pricey too, the ‘crazy’ golf is correctly named £58 for 6 people .. crazy."
  • "All activities are highly priced considering what you pay for the holiday."
