Ambiance and Setting

Pros:

  • "The whole place has a great vibe and atmosphere that really immerses you in a Caribbean world and makes you feel on a holiday."
  • "Soak up the vibes of 'Limin' in the Caribe with the amazing aromas of your food buoyed with fresh takes on Trini classics."
  • "Yessssss and yes again, if you can’t afford to fly off to the Caribbean don’t worry you can just jump on the train to Waterloo and walk down to Gabriel’s Wharf on the south bank."

Cons:

  • "Aside from the price, the vibe is welcoming and warm. The staff are friendly and it’s just a fun place all in all."
  • "The ambiance, especially given that it was the (cancelled) Carnival weekend, was disappointing. The music played was some generic European House when we would have expected at least some reggae or soca."

Service

Pros:

  • "The staff are amazing and efficient and lovely."
  • "Service was fine but given how quiet it was, I don't think it really mattered."
  • "Service was very slow with drinks taking around 30 minutes to come out."

Cons:

  • "The young lady serving us was very friendly but not very good; missed orders and no cutlery on the table."
  • "A very good restaurant excellent food great staff good size patio s great venue buzzing atmosphere 1 gripe I asked 4 my chicken wings 2 B a starter then mac cheese ribs as a main it all came together my pet hate so it's all in front of U getting cold."
  • "Loved the vibe of soca music. Adding a service charge to bill when you’re going up to counter to order the food yourself is wrong."

Food Quality

Pros:

  • "The food was lush only one dish we weren’t a fan of (the jerk chicken, small bones lack of meat on part used)."
  • "The food was incredible and the jerk chicken was a level of spice I did not expect but enjoyed."
  • "Had the doubles, barbecue pork ribs, jerk chicken and island tiramisu. Love the doubles and pork ribs. Jerk chicken was excellent was well, but portion is smaller than your typical street vendor."

Cons:

  • "Food was nice, not as spicy as I thought it would be. Grateful for that as I'm a lightweight when it comes to pepper."
  • "The food took a long time to arrive but it was good. You do get a good sized portion here."
  • "The food was bland and a misrepresentation of Trinidadian cuisine. The service was poor and I was shocked when I was made to pay for our food, drinks and service charge immediately after ordering our meals."

Value for Money

Pros:

  • "Come hungry, leave hearty & healthy by the cheerful waitstaff."
  • "True representation of Caribbean food. Everything was good from the food to the service. Location is very nice and the place is quite spacious."

Cons:

  • "It’s expensive. Paying £5 for a shot of rum is crazy, especially when you’re coming from outside of London."
  • "As a Trini (and vegan), I was disappointed. While the Doubles did taste good, £12 for something that you can traditionally get for 50p-£1 is ridiculous."
