Food Quality

Pros:

  • "The selection of dim sums tasted fresh and so delicious."
  • "Food was tasty - they offer dimsum all day so we had this with main meals."
  • "Jaw droppingly delicious dumplings πŸ₯ŸπŸ¦ - it was like tasting what a prawn har gau dumpling should actually taste like!"
  • "The lobster was the best I've ever eaten in a delicious sauce."
  • "Some of the best Chinese food I've ever had."
  • "Really tasty dim sum and pleasant waiters."
  • "The classics and the dim sum were excellent, better than any I've had in London."

Cons:

  • "The food was cold, the meat was chewy, hard and inedible."
  • "Stopped by for dim sum and noodles for dinner and we are still absolutely disgusted."
  • "Two recent orders have introduced some cons... the sweet corn cakes 2) the crispy pork belly which was soggy and dry (at the same time!!) severely over done and, hate to say it but … old and not sellable."
  • "The dim sum was OK nothing special."
  • "Some dishes were cooked really well and came out hot and fresh, and some the opposite."
  • "We had the crispy chilly beef which tasted like cardboard and was pretty much tasteless."
  • "Even worse the food was poor quality, chicken curry looked like a bowl of soup."

Service

Pros:

  • "Really good dim sum (served all day!) and fantastic service."
  • "Staff was very nice and the atmophere, see photos, nice and dark and acoustics that make sure that you can have a pleasent conversation."
  • "Their staff are friendly and attentive."
  • "We had a great time, good staff and hospitality."
  • "Great service. Extremely friendly and really authentic."
  • "Yum Cha, good selection of Dim Sum at reasonable price, especially the custard bao, service is good and attentive."
  • "The service is polite and very speedy."

Cons:

  • "Bad service, nobody cares about you."
  • "The servers could be a little more friendly."
  • "Prices are fair, maybe the staff should not be there staring at tables almost all the time as they do."
  • "The worst ever personnel I had during decades."
  • "Very poor service by the floor staffs, they don’t even smile to the customers."
  • "Service was actually more unfriendly than anything too…."
  • "The waiters are just expecting you to finish the meal and leave ASAP."

Atmosphere

Pros:

  • "The atmosphere is quite nice like being in a dining room at home."
  • "The decor and ambiance in the restaurant is by far one of the best in Chinatown."
  • "Very pleased and upscale atmosphere- relaxing classical music and overall nice atmosphere."
  • "A gem in China town with nice surroundings and lovely staff."
  • "The front dining room definitely has more ambience."
  • "And a huge plus is that the atmosphere here is not as noisy as some other dim sum places, which makes conversation easier and much more pleasant."
  • "Try to get a table at the rear of the restaurant as there is a glass roof and it is lovely especially lunch time."

Cons:

  • "This was absolutely dire. Everything is dated and tatty."
  • "Also before being seated we had to wait about 15-20min without being said anything."
  • "The atmosphere was great, Inside was much bigger than expected."
  • "The food was really average and dull looking."
  • "The atmosphere is neither bad nor good, it is just average and not very interesting."
  • "This part of Chinatown (really, the arse of Leicester Square) hasn't changed in decades."
  • "Because it is an old building, there are no wheelchair accessible toilets for patrons. Toilets are up the stairs on the first floor. But the entryway is step-free access and there is seating on the ground floor inside."

Value

Pros:

  • "Very good price in my opinion."
  • "In total we spent only about Β£23 for 2 dishes and 1 side. It was amazing!!!!"
  • "Great food. Great Prices. Great Service. Great Portions."
  • "For two of us it came to a reasonable Β£60."
  • "It has plenty of options for vegetarians... fab value for money for students, or those on the budget."
  • "A good experience of Saturday dim sum. Cosy, spacious interior and decent dim sum at reasonable price."
  • "Enjoyed the vegan set menu which was Β£25pp, food was absolutely gorgeous."

Cons:

  • "It is also very pricey, the boiled veggies for 10 quid with a bit of garlic, come on...."
  • "Prices are exceptionally high and the dim sums we ordered were only 3 pieces and we were 4 of us."
  • "Very expansive for what you really have in your dish."
  • "I feel the place is too expensive and with the 12.5% service fee no matter party size, it is a bit of a rip off."
  • "The service charge was 12.5% which was 2.5% more than want was stated in the restaurant window outside!!!"
  • "But they have fees added on in subtle ways: such as Β£15 minimum spend per customer."
  • "The prices are high considering the quality."
