Food Quality and Taste

Pros:

  • "The food itself is absolutely delicious, every bite is just fantastic."
  • "Beautiful quality beef patties, large portion size."
  • "They are very generous with their chip serves which is awesome as they are yum."
  • "This is one of those places that just pleasantly surprises, the efficiency of a large fast food chain with the care and attention to detail of a local takeaway shop."
  • "The burgers come with two beef patties by default and the buns are soft."
  • "Probably one of the top burgers I’ve had, ever."
  • "Far superior quality of burger and hot dog than other fast food restaurants."
  • "The burgers are identical no matter which restaurant you visit."

Cons:

  • "Bizarre sensation on first bite into cheeseburger."
  • "Hmm, burger a bit dry and lacking in vitality."
  • "The veggie options are pretty appalling."
  • "Burgers are decent but could be a little bit bigger."
  • "The cheese they use for a cheeseburger is the cheap and kind of gross Kraft singles."
  • "Burger contains only bun and meat, everything else you have to order extra."
  • "Burger was good but you'll need plenty of cash."
  • "Overrated and expensive. I had high hopes for Five Guys given the pervasive hype and price of their burgers."

Price and Value

Pros:

  • "Was here a few years ago and 5 guys for me is always worth that extra bit of cash."
  • "I like Five Guys food a lot though it can be quite expensive for 'fast food'."
  • "If you want a good meal for relatively cheap (cheaper than other burger places around), go here."
  • "Often people don't go as it's more expensive than alternatives but it's definitely worth the money your paying."

Cons:

  • "Our most recent visit cost over £32 for a burger, large fries, hotdog and two drinks... the cost dare I say it is a tad ridiculous."
  • "Over priced marketed burger. Tasted good and to my taste. Just seriously questioning the pricing these days of Food."
  • "£37 for two burgers, fries and soft drinks. The food is better than MacDonald's (low bar) but not worthy of the inflated cost."
  • "The food was delicious as always, loads of fries fries and a load of different toppings to add to your burger if you want. We went when some social distancing measures were still in place, there were screens and hand sanitiser stations in the resteraunt so that was well covered."

Service and Staff

Pros:

  • "Very nice service."
  • "The staff were very nice and one of them remembered me (I went twice because I couldn't stop thinking about the spicy fries)."
  • "Five Guys is very filling, you can choose your burger toppings and milkshake flavours. Has great indoor seating with a good view of the city. Would recommend going with family. The staff are very friendly too."
  • "All the staff go above and beyond and food was unreal."

Cons:

  • "BAD-burger BAD-customer service BAD-experience."
  • "Waited quite long for a sandwich, the service was very slow and chilled, definitely not bothered."
  • "To top it off they took 20 minutes to give me the milkshake and it was sat for 15 of those minutes waiting on the counter for me. Really really bad service onto of the manage swearing at me."
  • "I'm not someone who posts negative reviews or complains about customer service at all but this was honestly the worst customer service experience I can remember having."

Cleanliness and Environment

Pros:

  • "This particular place was also clean, not much people considering the location."
  • "Great place to go .. friendly staff ... clean tables, floor etc..."
  • "This is a nice bright place on two floors..toilets are upstairs .. there's a code to use them ..it's on your receipt..good idea stops people just wondering in ....you have to order your food and wait for it ..you get it in a brown paper bag .. different but fun ..burger are amazing ..what I liked about it you decide what you want so no surprises...worth a visit .."
  • "Having enjoyed Five Guys on both sides of the Atlantic this has to be the worst by far. We should have known when asked what we wanted on the burger rather than what we didn't want on things were not as else where, hmm. When they did arrive they were the most uncontrollable burger ever. With bacon on the bottom. No point mentioning anything to the gentleman who took the order as he was disinterested from the time we ordered. Saving grace was the quality of the burget. BUT IF THIS WAS THE FIRST FIVE GUYS WE WOULD NEVER HAVE HAD ONE AGSIN. Please train staff how things should be done."

Cons:

  • "Place was pretty dirty inside. I know you can throw your peanut shells on the floor but it still just looked dirty."
  • "The tables and floors in the restaurant need much more regular cleaning and clearing."
  • "Lack of cleaning really disappointed. Didn't see one table wiped down in our entire visit."
  • "Forget your stupidly thin McDs patties. Five Guys gives you a proper tasty burger experience. They always deliberately massively overfill their fries too so a small cajan fries is often plenty."
