Ambience and Location

Pros:

  • "It felt a really homely restaurant with sofas/chairs, skiing and snowboarding items dotted around to add the feel of Aviemore."
  • "Nice atmosphere with great views around on the first floor."
  • "Ambience and service were lovely and the staff were very attentive not to mention the stunning views of the Cairngorm mountains."
  • "Really authentic and the base and sauce were 8+ out of ten. And I'm talking including Italy. Delicious."
  • "Lovely to see the pizza oven forming the heart of the kitchen."
  • "The place looks friendly, very cosy, with lots of decorations. Feels like home."
  • "Lovely place and food, however due to short staffing issues, the remaining staff were under pressure and it came across in their service."
  • "Lovely to see and taste real wood fired pizza served by attentive and friendly staff. Eaten on a terrace with lovely views of the Braeriach massif."

Cons:

  • "We weren’t allowed to sit in so can’t really comment on the service and atmosphere. I’m not sure why as there were plenty of tables free."
  • "The place was quite crowded, and we were sat right by the door with people coming and going constantly."
  • "Outdoor dining area non smoking… what? On a balcony with two other customers?"
  • "One of the worst pizzas I've ever had... Restaurant looked tired though."
  • "I came for pizza from Inverness but i didn't get one because was closed which makes me think who closing restaurant at the peak hours in the most busy season because he needs break?"

Service

Pros:

  • "The staff members were very friendly."
  • "Service was excellent. It’s a busy place, I was lucky to get a table so I’d recommend booking in advance."
  • "Friendly service and really nice vibe inside. Would highly recommend."
  • "Service was 10/10! Staff was super friendly and kind!"
  • "The staff were superb, friendly and accommodating of our baby/ pram."
  • "Very, very nice service! Pizza in a real oven, all ingredients fresh, homemade pizza dough."
  • "Fantastic pizzas in a lovely dog friendly restaurant. The staff were all lovely and very friendly."
  • "Great food great staff great service enough said for a great pizza restaurant in Aviemore."

Cons:

  • "Worst service received in Scotland, We asked the waitress to make sure everything we ordered doesn’t contain ham or pork and she said yes everything we ordered was fine. Then we received our dirty fries and it contained pork."
  • "Waiters seem not knowing how to smile. They spend a lot of time talking together while we r waiting more than 20 minutes just for drinks ou simple ice cream."
  • "Service with a smile paired with quality oven-baked pizza makes for a superb lunchtime experience. I haven't tried the desserts but the cakes looked mouthwatering too."
  • "The head of house seems to be unable to tell the time! The sign and internet claim for the opening time to be 9pm, yet arriving at 8:45 for a take away order will leave you wanting."

Menu and Food Quality

Pros:

  • "All the dishes we had were great and very tasty! - Margherita pizza - Lentil soup (soup of the day) + focaccia bread - Chips - Mixed salad."
  • "The pizzas are absolutely delicious and authentic. Beautiful crust, undercarriage and flavours."
  • "Absolutely loved the food there! I got the chorizo breakfast! It was delicious!"
  • "The pizzas are delicious. The toppings are quite classical - the only thing which would make it better would be more adventurous toppings - perhaps showcasing local ingredients."
  • "I can’t explain how good these pizzas are. Simply amazing. Best ever. Staff were brilliant and made us a dip for our crusts."
  • "One of the best pizza places we’ve been to. The cheesy garlic bread is delicious and a steal at £5 (it’s the same size as a pizza)."
  • "An outstanding hidden gem above an outdoors shop. Fantastic wood fired pizzas in a laid back, no frills environment."
  • "Friends, this is the best darn vegan pizza we have ever had. They use an incredible local supplier for their vegan cheese and it’s the closest thing to mozzarella we have ever experienced."

Cons:

  • "We weren’t allowed to sit in so can’t really comment on the service and atmosphere. My kids loved their pizzas but said they were very small. Had to give them something else after."
  • "Neither myself nor my husband liked ours. Mine had so much sauce on it. I really really disliked the flavour so left half of it."
  • "The only reason I'm giving 4 instead of 5 stars is because the cream base pizza was a little runny."
  • "Had the cheese & tomatin pizza, soup of the day, and fresh orange juice. Pizza was decent though the crusts were slightly too thick."
  • "Very tasteful pizza but the place lacks enthusiasm and atmosphere. It is not an Italian restaurant but an (overpriced) fast food pizza place with unmotivated staff."
  • "The pizza base was excellent, and certainly had the potential to create an excellent pizza. However, it was let down by the toppings."
  • "Normal pizzas were amazing. I have allergies and had to have DF and GF pizza which wasn't nice at all."
  • "Overpriced and they don't do pineapple. As with most places with aviemore it's tourist prices."
