Animal Encounters

Pros:

  • "The animals are really close and gives you a very personal experience compared to any zoos I have been to."
  • "Amazing. Drove around twice, saw many cool animals, best day out this summer."
  • "The drive thru safari is awesome and u can drive it as many times as u like."
  • "We saw more of the animals especially the Black Bears and Wolves and the cheeky Rhinos."
  • "This time we were lucky enough to be approached by zebras, monkeys and giraffes."
  • "The animals all look really well looked after and site is very clean."
  • "The animals are well cared for and there is plenty to see and do."

Cons:

  • "A very expensive traffic jam!!!! Experience ruined by the greedy park letting way too many cars through."
  • "Hardly anything to see on the foot safari and a 30min wait for a train that takes you to stroke some lamas for 10mins."
  • "Not much option in terms of animals but was a few there."
  • "It was a bit disappointing that many of the wilder and more dangerous animals seemed exhausted and so they were lying down or having a nap."
  • "Some of the 'heavy hitters' (such as tigers) were a no-show during my visit."
  • "When I went all the animals seem either tired or not interested so didn't get to see much as price isn't worth what they charge if you ask me."
  • "The lions and monkeys on the drive through we're the best bits but the rest is awful."

Facilities & Amenities

Pros:

  • "Clear big signs of entry and exit from the Safari would be good to have."
  • "Toilets were very clean and could see regular cleaning taking place."
  • "There is also a good array of things to do (at no extra cost) including a slide and duck boats."
  • "Plenty of toilet facilities around the park."
  • "They have a go ape and paddling boats here and there is some grass space to have a picnic."
  • "Restaurants and cafes on site. Two shops. Functioning room. Toilets. Wheelchair and pushchair accessible."
  • "There are a few restaurants on site and ice cream areas."

Cons:

  • "Almost all facilities were closed inside the park (Cafés and ice-cream shops) only the main restaurant were open and the waiting time to order and pay was unbelievable!!"
  • "Food options are very limited and expensive for what it is."
  • "Vegetarian or vegan food options are terrible. That must be improved, the position size is shocking small compared to meet and fish options."
  • "Food in the restaurants was expensive as you expect at these places, but it was expensive and awful really."
  • "The food tasted worse then anything... We spend over £60 and we did not eat and everything went in the bin."
  • "However, cafe' queues are very long, which needs to be improved."
  • "Food is not great there and cost arm and a leg so advice bring your own or go else where."

Staff & Service

Pros:

  • "Had a great VIP experience with Helen! She went above and beyond to show us an incredible time."
  • "Staff were amazing and very friendly."
  • "The staff around the park were all amazing, nothing was too much for any of them and they were all happy to answer questions we had about the animals."
  • "A special acknowledgement to Megan who works on the High Ropes. What an asset she is to the park!!!"
  • "The keepers are so knowledgeable and engaging, and the retail staff are ace too."
  • "The staff is very friendly and kind."
  • "Staff very friendly, see you again soon!"

Cons:

  • "HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE (Only left 1 star as couldn’t post without it.)" - Regarding the refusal of entry for a disabled individual without a blue badge.
  • "Excessive visitors, beyond a sensible volume, even meant that all the disabled parking spaces were full."
  • "Every time we nearly saw an animal we wanted to see they drove the VIP safari cars in front of you and completely blocked our view."
  • "Not loads of disabled loos, the main restaurant one was closed and we had a long wait as there was a bit of a queue in the other one nearby."
  • "This show was awful, no back up plan, the sea lion did not want to do anything... and all we had was an apology, didn't even give people their money back."
  • "Only thing they need to improve which hope they will consider doing is at foot safari is wayfinding as it's unclear and confusing for people when going to certain animals."
  • "The only downside was we weren’t given any times for the shows, so missed them all."

Value for Money

  • "Phenomenal attraction and well worth the price."
  • "For around £65 all 3 of us could drive in and get to see animals closer than ever before."
  • "The entire trip can be done on multiple occasions which is worth your money."
  • "We would defo go back and considering the annual passes for all three of us as it’s good value for money and right on our door step."
  • "The admission fees were very reasonable considering once you’re in, you can go around the road safari as much as you like and there’s lots more to see and do on foot."
  • "All in all a good day out for the price!"
  • "Don't be deterred by the ticket price as u won't be disappointed!"
