  • "We come every year, and it never fails to impress."
  • "We went for the winter lights and Father Christmas train ride and visit. The lights we're really good, as was the Father Christmas visit."
  • "The light show was spectacular this year, projected onto the water fountains. A joy to watch."
  • "Visited longleat on many an occasion, but this was the first time at festival of light. Amazing day out."

Cons:

  • "Very expensive, so would definitely go earlier another time."
  • "Expensive but worth it."
  • "Very expensive for what it is."
  • "It is a lot of money for the day, however it has to be done at least once and I feel it's worth the experience."
  • "The toilets aren’t clean at all, nor is there soap in many of the dispensers."
  • "Organisation around the light festival. At around 3.30pm a lot of areas were beginning to close... very frustrating."
  • "Expensive and the variety of animals has decreased a bit."
  • "More than a day is needed to visit everything at Longleat."

Safari Experience

Pros:

  • "Fun day out at Longleat... the safari drive was so good. We loved the monkeys jumping on our car."
  • "Despite the onset of torrential rain in the afternoon we did the safari drive earlier in the day and had some great up close and personal encounters."
  • "Safari bus is a must and the drive Dave was fantastic and knowledgeable."
  • "The safari experience was amazing. We had close encounters with the lions. Not much tigers around."
  • "The safari drive though took around 2 hours due to waiting for gates but the audio app helped in that time."
  • "We had a wonderful two days. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Day 1 went on safari bus which was much safer in with the monkeys."
  • "Went for a tour of the house which was interesting, and the guide was very good."
  • "The safari drive-through was really cool, as other reviews mention the monkey section is fantastic."

Cons:

  • "Some bits around park looking a bit tired."
  • "The food queues were insane. We were so thankful we took a packed lunch."
  • "A few things closed in covid and its a shame they haven't reopened, the bats and the mirror maze for example."
  • "Most attractions are included in the price, the river cruise(sea lions), and the small train ride. The house tour is extra but less than £5 and worth it."
  • "The only slight downside is the cost of food, drink and gizzits, but it's to be expected."
  • "I haven’t been for a few years and disappointed to see that lots of attractions are closed/removed: butterfly garden, reptile holding, mirror maze, winter ice rink, bat cave etc."
  • "Took around 1 1/2 hours to get round, so give yourself plenty of time."
  • "The park itself offers multiple experiences for all ages. So much so, that we purchased our yearly pass and have since renewed it!"

Food and Amenities

Pros:

  • "Various food outlets on site. All in all a good experience with friendly staff."
  • "Thought food and drinks were reasonably priced as well."
  • "The food is quick service, but my husband took 35 mins to bring it back to the table and by this time it was very cold."
  • "Our only suggestion is to increase the variety of food. There was a street food hut near the main picnic area that served vegetarian food."
  • "The pizza place was where we ate lunch, the pizzas were made right infront of us which was lovely."
  • "I was very pleasantly surprised how reasonably priced the toys were. Generally a cuddly toy is far too expensive in places like this."
  • "cafes not too badly priced with good choices of food, a visit is highly recommended"
  • "The outdoor food kiosks: Apart from the doughnut and sweet shop were open."

Cons:

  • "We went for Mini safari invite. My children loves zoo but this is quite a different experience."
  • "I would advise taking your own food as with most places like this your a captive audience and boy do they know that and take advantage to the fullest extent."
  • "Very wet and soggy Christmas eve, lovely day spending time with family at longleat the lights were amazing."
  • "We did some rides, then went over to the safari area in our car. The girls loved the safari but make sure you follow the signs as a lot of people were getting lost."
  • "Very expensive for what it is. Could do with better signage for the walk around areas we haven't all got perfect vision."
  • "Wouldn’t recommend the restaurant. Food was bland and overpriced, reminded me a school cafeteria."
  • "Absolutely fabulous time. We started with the safari drive as our 4 year old insisted! Wasn't too busy although was on a school day."
  • "The safari itself is as good as always and maybe we got lucky to see most of the animals up close."
