Lavender Farm Experience

Pros:

  • "Lovely lavender farm. Opens from the end of June and stays a couple of months until the harvesting is done."
  • "Enjoyed our time here! We booked a picnic slot on a weekday and were able to take beautiful photos."
  • "Rows of lavender providing a very serene environment and lots of photo opportunities."
  • "The Lavender fields were stunning. In full bloom."
  • "Our kids love charging up and down the rows of lavender, which is always fragrant and full of insects."
  • "Perfect and most picturesque lavendar field around London."
  • "It offers guided lavender walks with the most amazing picnic spots."

Cons:

  • "Apart from the breathtaking beauty of the fields, this is a total rip off!!"
  • "Not as large as I thought it would be and a very expensive gift shop."
  • "The so-called tour was not really a tour. It was a 45 min lecture by a double agricultural degree holder, leaving us with 5 minutes of picture taking opportunity of the lavender field."
  • "We booked the expensive guided tour. This was a mistake as the only field that we were permitted to view was a messy and ugly field at the back."
  • "Very rude behaviour of staff and owner. We gone from London spend time and money but they just allowed to stay there for 7 minutes as the time is 5 O clock."
  • "The worst lavender field experience ever. No access to lavender field unless you pay to take their tour."
  • "Disappointed. Lavender fields were spectacular but expected the Castle Farm shop to have fruit and veg that was grown on the farm, but not the case as all geared up for lavender items."

Cons:

  • "We were walking to find our way to the reception but were immediately questioned, not welcomed or greeted, with an accusatory tone that we have parked our car in the wrong place!"
  • "No public toilet, unhelpful staffs."
  • "Very disappointing especially after spending extra to go on the farm tour and then spending in the overpriced shops after."
  • "The farm shop itself very cute and nice. But unfortunately the blondie older woman, who seems to be a manager in one second ruined the overall impression."
  • "Beautiful but sadly ruined by very unfriendly staff who made us feel very unwelcome."
  • "We received an insincere ‘sorry’ and were waved away."
  • "Few mins later another worker said there was a toilet in the facility which can be used and kindly gave us the code!! How can someone be so rude??"
