Pub Atmosphere

Pros:

  • "This charming traditional London pub is literally around the corner from the famous Lyceum Theatre."
  • "The pub itself is very cosy and traditionally decorated."
  • "The decor in here is quintessentially English pub and showcases what a traditional pub should be."
  • "A little hidden away or saturated by tourist pubs, this place remains undisturbed by the theatre crowd."

  • "Lovely, cozy pub to check out before the theatre or when hiding from the rain :) lovely booths, great vibes :) thanks bar staff for being diligent as well!"
  • "Lovely old pub with individual, discreet booths downstairs, and a beautiful dining area upstairs."

Cons:

  • "TERRIBLE, you aren't allowed to play a Nintendo Switch in their as the 7 week experienced barman told me it 'breaks policy'."
  • "Possibly the worst selection of beers and shots I’ve ever encountered."
  • "Let alone the fact the pub itself is not playing any kind of music it is forbidden to use any kind of technology."
  • "For some unknown, non publicly documented anywhere it is forbidden to play a music video at an extremely acceptable volume levels, inside of the in-built cabins."
  • "You had to order your food and drinks downstairs, we waited ages, there was no music, no atmosphere."
  • "Very Very quiet, low lighting, thought the place was closed (kitchen was closed) when entering, felt like a morgue."

Price and Value

Pros:

  • "Prices were very reasonable for the area."
  • "Very reasonable prices."
  • "It's a Samuel Smith's pub so expect the standard Sam Smith's drinks. The benefit of this is one of the cheapest pints you will find in London."
  • "Great hand pulled Yorkshire bitter, at a good price (for London)."
  • "Best of all our 2 course meal (main & dessert) for 2 including drinks came to less than £40!!"
  • "Amazingly good quality beer and such good prices for London."
  • "It's a cheap place to drink in the middle of town!"

Cons:

  • "Very expensive for a small portion of average quality fish and chips."
  • "I thought Sam Smiths pubs were meant to be cheap, but £5.20 for a Taddy lager is nothing special."
  • "Then £22.50 for one double gnt, one bottle cherry beer n packet of peanuts? Even by central London standards that's steep."
  • "Quirky pub, full of real ale and dark timber. Enjoyed our visit here. The only downside, as with many central London pubs is the high price price of drinks."
  • "The only downfall is that the prices are a bit expensive, but this is mainly due to them having their own brand which in a way can be a positive."
  • "Well it's a Sam Smiths so expect slightly cheaper beers in here - although the difference in price between Sam Smith's has vanished very quickly over the last few years."
  • "We thought that £7 for a 330ml bottle of cider was ridiculous."
