Queue and Waiting Time
Pros:
"Waited in queue for around 10mins max considering it was very busy inside."
"There was a bit of a queue outside, but that's always a good sign, and we really didn't wait long, 15 mins tops."
"Queue seemed long but moved quit quickly. Waited about 20 minutes for the table but worth the wait."
"We only had to wait about 20/25 mins to get a table."
Cons:
"Dont come on a Saturday!!! Waited almost two hours in the rain for a seat."
"Read this before visiting! So if you visit on weekend expect a long wait! We queued for approx hour!"
"The buttermilk chicken is beautifully tender with a crunchy coating with tasty seasoning. Not oily at all. Calamari was delicious. The BBQ brisket was mouthwateringly delicious. I'm not normally a fan of mac n cheese, but this was pretty good - al dente macaroni and a non-stodgy well-flavoured cheese sauce. Fries were good. We tried 4 of the sauces - Cajun mayo, honey mustard, Louisiana hot, and Texan BBQ - they were all tasty. Loved the root beer float - made me feel like a kid again.
Service was friendly and helpful.
We came on a Wednesday afternoon after the lunch rush. It was still busy inside, but there was plenty of outdoor seating."
"The places opens at 12pm and from the minute it opens it is fairly busy. It might have been because of the weather but there was a queue already forming before it opened."
"Unfortunately the food was not so great, I went for the pork/Mac & cheese dish. The pork was all fat and no meat. The Mac and cheese was watery and had no cheese flavour to it at all.
Apart from that the setting by the river side was lovely, staff were very friendly and welcoming, quick service, cocktails were incredible too!"
Service and Staff
Pros:
"Seated by a window with the view of the river, fantastic service with upbeat music."
"This visit was no exception the buttermilk prawn Po was to die for. The lovely Amelia looked after us, she was attentive, welcoming and a credit to your team."
"The server who took our order and looked after us was super friendly! He was patient with us and always smiling."
"All the staff were awesome as well, super friendly, nothing was too much of an ask and helped us with the menu etc being first timers."
Cons:
"Service was slow and we ordered took another 45mins before coming out!"
"Once seated service was slow and we ordered took another 45mins before coming out!"
"Service is a bit on the slow side and knowledge about the menu was lacking."
"Service was okay ish. Food took ages to come and we wasn't given any cutlery even though we asked more then once."
Food Quality and Taste
Pros:
"The food was incredible and the portions huge - would highly recommend the Mac Boy!"
"Huge delicious portions , good vibes and fast service."
"This place is an absolute gem of a place. The surf and turf is crazy amazing."
"You always know you’re in for a treat when you get there 10mins before opening and there’s a line 20+ people deep waiting to get in."
Cons:
"The brisket could have been a little more tender, though."
"The £20 beef rib sadly was a bit fatty and not that well spiced."
"The brisket lacked flavour, even the bourbon bbq sauce did nothing for me. The fried calamari was not crispy."
"The mac and cheese tasted very processed. The fried gherkins were very soggy."
Atmosphere and Location
Pros:
"Seated by a window with the view of the river, fantastic service with upbeat music."
"This place was absolutely worth the wait. We went as a group of nine so had too wait a little."
"Cute restaurant in Kingston upon Thames. Love the names of the restaurant and the dishes."
"The place is beside the River Thames which makes it better on a sunny day."
Cons:
"Only downside was that we were sat right next to the door so it was a little cold but didn’t ruin the meal in anyway."
"I gave 1 start for atmosphere because we never made it inside."
"The restaurant is a little small as seating is very tight."
"It's on the river but not a particularly picturesque part of it."
