Store Layout and Stock
Pros:
"The shop is clear and well organised."
"Absolutely the best B&Q store I've ever been to, I've been to a lot! Friendly and helpful staff, massive selections of DIY and building materials."
"Good little store with plenty of stock and most items."
"This is one of the bigger stores and had everything i needed which was a radiator and valves."
"Woodstore was obviously reasonably recently stocked so good for all those covid projects and there were new plants in the garden area."
"Great place, good parking big store wide range of building, renovations products, great garden department."
"This DIY Superstore holds pretty much anything you might need in stock."
Cons:
"The store layout was a little disappointing as I was expecting things to be where they are in other branches I've visited frequently."
"A big store with loads of stuff which is good except it makes it difficult to find what you're looking for."
"It's got what you need but not where you think - be prepared to walk down every aisle."
"Very hard to find decent lengths of wood."
"Trying to find some planed softwood, not much in stock and what they had was poor and muddled in wrong locations."
"On my recent visits I found this store to have very low stock if any on the items I wished to purchase."
"We have tried numerous times to buy a replacement fence panel from the Ashford store, and although it says online they have 13, have been told none in stock, and cannot order."
Customer Service
Pros:
"Click collect service Ok, But customer toilets bad. Men's and disabled unusable, husband needed disabled, had to use ladies."
"During covid I used the click and collect, that seemed to work well."
"Had a click and collect, which I would definitely recommend in the current situation."
"You can't fault their service as they always seem cheerful and are very helpful."
"Staff were friendly and helpful however we went to B&Q for a specific item that was showing online as in with 22 items but was not actually in stock. Very much a wasted trip."
"The staff member who answered the phone, had a great knowledge and understanding of measurements and stock."
"Staff are friendly and helpful and they strictly adhere to all social distancing guidelines and facemask/visor rules which is comforting."
Cons:
"Absolutely rubbish customer service... didn't care about the customer whatsoever."
"No willingness to help, management show no respect to customer."
"Another big box company was poor quilty products you can buy at a fraction of the price online at higher quilty, staff in general have a complet aversion to showing you where some thing is."
"Staff really rude and appeared to just want to chat to each other and not help the customers."
"Had the security guard following all the way round the store (I'm assuming because I had a mask on (doesn't everyone?)) and multiple members of staff were rude, obnoxious and sarcastic."
"Staff so busy being bossed around they didn’t take interest in helping us at all."
"The only word I have to describe the staff is tragic."
Pricing and Value
Pros:
"Rated 5 star as I haven't had such a good laugh in quite a while! Well played B&Q."
"Whilst they have a tremendous range, I get the impression that you pay 'top dollar' for it."
"Always good. Stock in the store matches what is on the B&Q website which is always useful if you make a special trip."
"A good selection of items but be careful with pricing and some items are very well priced but some not competitive at all."
"Bought lots of half price plants today with excellent savings on bedding and hanging basket plants."
"I use B&Q a lot for buying plants. I recently bought a rather large Olive Tree, must of been 5ft high and only cost me £65."
Cons:
"You can normally find at least some of what you need but by heck you pay for it."
"Found B&Q expensive for example £3 for one small bracket which you can get for 45p at wicks and many other items."
"Just been to B&Q I had a gift card to use up so thought make it easy and head there. The items I wanted was just a couple of special bulbs £6 each! That's £2 more per bulb than other nearby places for being able to pick it up of the shelf. Overpriced!"
"Another big box company was poor quilty products you can buy at a fraction of the price online at higher quilty."
"As usual I left without buying. They discontinued the paint I wanted."
"Item in stock on computer could not be physically found, staff gave conflicting messages."
