Atmosphere & Location

Pros:

  • "A great outdoor space by the canal meant this was the perfect venue for us to enjoy the Bank Holiday sunshine."
  • "The atmosphere was warm and cosy."
  • "The garden at the back is lovely in the summer too 😍"
  • "A really beautiful bar."
  • "Great place, with atmosphere, nice vibe, happy service and a good collection of gin."
  • "It's a lovely bar, which always has a fantastic atmosphere - particularly in the beer garden."
  • "Fantastic pub with a massive garden next to the canal, more than enough to allow for complete social distancing, while still accomodating enough people to create a great vibe."

Cons:

  • "Be warned, you will get your bottom half wet."
  • "The entrance should be though more clear as we had to go around the building a few times until we realised which one was the actual entrance."
  • "Reeks of corporate / hedge fund ownership. Beauty only skin deep."
  • "The recently added weekend events at the distillery have quickly become a nuisance for nearby residents."
  • "Is situated right on the canal, so is probably better suited as a summer location, than one for early winter."
  • "If you're a wheelchair user forget it. There's no parking, access is virtually impossible."
  • "Very disappointing. I've only ever drank at the Distillery and really like the selection of beers and cool atmosphere, but I was disappointed yesterday."

Food & Drink

Pros:

  • "Good selection of drinks on offer."
  • "The lamb ribs are amazing and the pizza delicious too love all the small plates and a good gin selection."
  • "The rotisserie chicken is succulent and served generously, whilst the pizzas are an enjoyable escape from the lazy American style often found in such places."
  • "The food and wine were fantastic."
  • "Food was great, lots on offer to drink and a lovely setting."
  • "The food was fantastic! I'm still thinking about it four days later.. It's great quality food for a really good price."
  • "The drinks were excellent too, they had every gin you could ever wish for, bar staff were very knowledgeable and friendly."

Cons:

  • "Firstly the food is really basic and under-cooked, the burger buns were old, very raw eggs, dry and tasteless kofta."
  • "But the food wasn't good, the hummus was not edible."
  • "Grilled Halloumi wrap was extremely bad. Halloumi had no flavour and had barely been grilled."
  • "Nice place, but the food came in very small portions and left me hungry."
  • "Food wasn't that great either and I'm easily pleased! I won't be eating there again!"
  • "The food is very expensive and although it is nice, it's not worth the cost."
  • "The food was more like a nibbling stuff (or cheap fast food) rather then a proper buffet style."

Service & Staff

  • "It's a little too pricey for us to visit again."
