Session Organization and Timing

Pros:

  • "Session timing/length could be clearer on booking confirmation as our session was 2 hrs."
  • "It's great value, you get one and a half hours (!) which frankly seems almost too much."
  • "Affordable entry ticket, scatting available for hire. Enough time long session."
  • "Good value for money with sessions lasting two and a half hours, meaning you can take regular breaks off the ice."

Cons:

  • "They cancelled the session and did not bother to properly notify anyone."
  • "An hour prior to our booking at 3pm, the ice rink sent an email closing all bookings for the evening."
  • "Notification sent out 15mins before our session but we got there 15mins prior so it didn't help us."
  • "Firstly the website and the rules on the door don't match, the lady on the door is unnecessarily rude when asked why."

Skate Quality and Comfort

Pros:

  • "The skates can be a little stiff and unpleasant especially when you get into the larger sizes."
  • "The skates were a good fit however I would recommend you bring long thick socks to cushion the astic edges of the skates."

Cons:

  • "The skates are very worn out and uncomfortable. The laces were short when tieing and ripped or split in places."
  • "I got blisters on my hands from trying to tighten the skates as they use lace-up skates, some of which are in terrible condition."
  • "The skates are so old and so uncomfortable, I had to get 2 sizes up as they were unbearable to wear."
  • "The quality of ice was perfect for the first 20 min. Definitely too many people and it was total mess. Staff did not pay attention at all to the dangerous behaviors."

Staff and Customer Service

Pros:

  • "Staff were polite too x"
  • "Staff are really attentive and observant when people fall/injure themselves."
  • "The receptionist was friendly and helpful but that was where the fun ended."
  • "Staff are helpful and friendly toilets were clean, few places to grab a bite to eat or bring a picnic lots of space to chill and take in the view outside."

Cons:

  • "The workers are rude, you ask for something they sigh and talk aggressively for absolutely no reason."
  • "The old guy with an accent, who gives out the skates was so rude to us, literally shouting at us to take our shoes off."
  • "Staff could not have been more miserable and rude, not just one, but all!"
  • "Rude, unhelpful and disinterested having not explained the system with hiring skate aides, I was made to walk the entire circumference of the building (in my skates) to pay the £10 hire fee before the kids could use them."

Value for Money

Pros:

  • "Very good ice rink in London. One of the cheapest. Big and spacious."
  • "Prices were very reasonable and online booking was easy. Convenient car park."
  • "My daughters and I recently visited the Alexandra Palace Ice Rink and had a fantastic time. The rink was spacious and well-maintained."

Cons:

  • "Expensive, and as usual parents end up paying more money so their child can skate using supports."
  • "Just don't buy any food in the cafe because they will rip you off. £6.5 for one small piece of pizza. It's an absurd."
  • "A bit disappointing that you don't get the entire rink to skate on. The middle part is reserved for lessons, and one of the sides for parties. Pricey, especially those little penguins for children."
