Staff and Service

Pros:

  • "Fantastic helpful staff, I think we deserve shares in the company with the amount of money and time we have spent in the store whilst we have been doing up our home."
  • "The staff are very competent and go out of their way to assist and advise."
  • "Big shout out to Dawn, who saw me about to pay for a load of tiles, literally took my credit card out of the machine to help me out, gave me some great advise and saved me over £60!"
  • "Omar has served us at the till several times even at 7am he definitely is the service with a smile representative you want serving."

  • "Very friendly staff who came to my rescue today."
  • "Staff primed like coiled springs to offer assistance."

Cons:

  • "No staff around to answer our queries except one guy wandering around talking on his phone."
  • "Staff member verbally abused me and slammed a door onto me after I questioned his status when he used the disabled toilet/baby change."
  • "So this store has gone through a major refit which is great however there's an old saying about being able to polish a ****. The staff still lack any drive to be helpful."
  • "Whatever happened to customer service - clearly not something B&Q value instilling in their staff - been several times lately and not once has anyone said hello at the till, said please, thank you - made small talk - the people employed on the tills appear to have the personality of a brick……"
  • "Awful service, first person I asked for help, a female supervisor treated me like something she had stepped in?"
  • "RUDE AND LAZY CASHIER! I was served by an old rude man, who seemed to think that only he can be right."
  • "Absolutely awful service from the young lady on the tills."

Store Layout and Stock

Pros:

  • "The entrance to the store seems busy with all of the items available and the number of people sorting out their hands etc."
  • "Store has a lot of products and it seems quite well laid out."
  • "The store itself is great nice and big lots to look at."
  • "You can find anything from lights to plants, storage boxes, kitchens and tools."
  • "Store is well laid out clear markings and staff clearly available help."
  • "Clean, organised and sell everything."
  • "Large B and Q compared to others I have visited. It has just about anything you would need."

Cons:

  • "Every single box in the lighting section has been opened previously as can be seen by the bad tape job. Lights have been forced back into boxes so all damaged."
  • "Not very good traveled 11 miles expecting a large B&Q to have every thing I wanted namely half inch MDF sheets they had none."
  • "30 mile round trip to pick up something this store doesn't even stock! Online said it did."
  • "It's got everything I don't need and never got what I do need but always tells me online they do have it in store but when I've drove there nope we are out of it."
  • "Very disappointed we bought a radiator day before and brackets were missing went to customer service and were left stood there 35 mins before the person they called for to help us turned up."
  • "Went to buy concrete spur repair post which was showing in stock. Also wanted M10 threaded rod also showing as in stock. Unfortunately although they were supposed to have ample stock they had nothing."
  • "Stock not in the correct place and confusion around which of the self service Tilston were working."

Accessibility and Convenience

Pros:

  • "Nice large unit. Plenty of spaces for parking although it can get slightly busy on weekends."
  • "Parking is no issue, plus you're adjacent to a supermarket if you need to kill two birds with one stone."
  • "Plentiful parking space and range of products to choose from."
  • "Large outdoor area for gardening stuff. Plenty of parking including mother and child and disabled."
  • "Did a click and collect. Had a 2 year old with me and was collecting 25 boxes of tiles. It was quick and the 2 girls serving were very polite and helpful."
  • "Plenty of parking spaces although the car park is now shared with Aldi so the area can get a little congested."
  • "Large store, free parking, they have pretty much everything you need."

Cons:

  • "The store itself is great nice and big lots to look at. However, I needed to use a wheelchair and it was awful there was something wrong with the front wheel which made it very hard to push."
  • "Customer Services desk isn't easily identifiable which is a pain if you have an issue."
  • "Disabled toilet is also filthy, absolutely filthy. toilet facilities are well below standard in terms of hygiene and cleanliness."
  • "I approached a young man sitting on stool working on his computer in the kitchen section. He took a while looking up from his glasses and was clearly annoyed that I approached him with a question."
  • "Another shop where people without masks are outnumbered by those with. Staff aren't bothered about them."
  • "Staff friendly and helpful. Excellent service in the kitchen department 5 star to them. But being of that age who needs the loo more often it was a shame the toilets are closed."
  • "I dislike this place because of lack of organisation."
