Emergency Care

Pros:

  • "The team were fabulous. The vet explained everything they were going to do and promised to keep us informed of any changes."
  • "Arrived at 23:30, staff brought the trolley out for my dog who couldn't walk on back legs. Taken straight into consultation room."
  • "Emergency visit just after midnight. 17 week old pup suddenly went limp and lifeless. Immediate treatment."
  • "We were seen immediately and the staff were lovely."
  • "Brought my dog in as an emergency after she started showing signs of toxic poisoning. Booked via phone. They were ready and expecting us when we arrived."
  • "When we rushed our Cavalier, Kenzo, in for emergency treatment the Vet on duty could not have been any quicker with the treatment."
  • "Seen within seconds of arriving. Very professional knowledgable vets."
  • "Vets now did everything they could to save my cat after he was hit by a car. Unfortunately, it wasn’t the outcome we hoped for, but they were very professional and sympathetic."

Cons:

  • "Not enough staff receptionist was having to clear sick off floor didn’t feel for a ten minute consultation and sick injection warranted £326."
  • "Emergency care required out of hours so we were directed to PDSA Coventry. 31/2 hr wait."
  • "Took my 11 month puppy down on a Friday night. I waited 2.5 hours without him being seen by a vet nor any update."
  • "My dog was having seizures last night. Was told to bring her down, was left outside ignored for 10 minutes."
  • "Sat here now with my fifteen year old labrador who is critically ill and is due to be put to sleep in 3 days time. Didn't wish to see her get any worse and went to vets now out of hours service to be told I could hand her over like a discarded piece of cloth and they would put her to sleep but under no circumstances due to covid could I be with her at her final moments."
  • "Took my cat to the Coventry Vets now, waited 2.5 hrs I told the vets the problem, all they did was give her a pain killer, it turned out she had a temperature and an infection ( diagnosed by my own vet the next day) avoid if at all possible....."

Customer Service and Compassion

Pros:

  • "The only improvement that could be made was better passing on of information between the nurses about my dogs emotional needs, as she is a rescue."
  • "The team at Vets Now are amazing. The reception staff are all so helpful and kind. The vets are incredible, they are so knowledgeable and experts at what they do."
  • "Visited with much loved golden retriever whose legs no longer held her up after 16 years. From there moment we got there the staff were kindness personified."
  • "Unfortunately we had to say goodbye to our cherished cat "Angel" on the 7th April. Everyone gave us so much care, compassion and support during this difficult time."
  • "Our experience was bad resulting in our beloved dog passing away in the back of the car having spent the night at the clinic and is being told we had to collect him from them by 7am in the morning, he was seriously poorly and we couldn’t take him to our own vet until 8.30 when they opened, he even had the drip needle in his leg they just disconnected it. No compassion from the vet at all."
  • "My sister and I had to beg and plead with vet ‘Nacho’ to see my beloved bunny for just a few minutes one last time before she was put down."
  • "They are totally unprofessional. My dog is bit by other dog. 3 pairs of rib has broken and has internal bleeding."
  • "Can’t thank them enough. Emergency situation on a Sunday afternoon. Saved the life of my beloved and aged Weimaraner. Staff very responsive, efficient and kept me informed at each stage of his treatment."

Cons:

  • "My dog was having seizures last night. Was told to bring her down, was left outside ignored for 10 minutes."

  • "I am normally not a person who writes reviews but I feel like the situation could have been handled much better. We recently moved in to a house and we saw this little black and white cat in our garden on quite a few occasions. Every time she was very playful, loving, purring and asking for treats. On this occasion she looked lethargic, not engaging, refusing any sort of food or treats and almost looked like she was in pain."
  • "Not good service the vet that saw my dog i could hardly understand what she was saying then they said they would give her a sickness injection just in case but that might not solve the problem and there was nothing else they could do and would have to go to my usual vet but was still billed 285 just to see what the problem was yet they didnt find out what the problem was just gave her an injection 75 pound on top of the 285 that they didnt even know if she needed it."

Cost and Affordability

Pros:

  • "I was really worried about the money aspect but allowed me the option of a direct payment (as we were insured) which took away so much anxiety and allowed the vets to take all the necessary care treatments."
  • "On Christmas Day. Our beautiful Labrador took Ill and needed to go to sleep. After having rang several vets without any help or support we found you. Financial it was a very difficult month for us and you did so much to help, that also helped us immensely on the bleakest of days."
  • "What a fantastic emergency service these people run. Our little dog Corkie got hit by a car on Thursday night, serious injuries but these people sorted us and Corkie out. A great thanks to Paul on reception who was so caring and helpful and kept us up to date on what was occurring."

Cons:

  • "However as it was an out of hours appointment the cost of just being seen was £280. Increasing to £360 for an injection and admin fee if we were going to make an insurance claim."
  • "We took our injured cat to the out of hour’s emergency centre at Coventry. The total bill came to £429…while I except that out of hours expertise will be expensive the charge seems very excessive."
  • "You took my dog, throughout the night when I rung, you told Me she's doing well. In the morning, you said she's happy. When I brought her in, as a PDSA concessionary patient, you guys told me it's capped. £337 but tomorrow all in will be no more than £400. Well, PDSA told me £1300 and put my dog to sleep because I couldn't raise £650 within 3 to 4 hours."
  • "Charged almost £400 then charged £16 to be able to claim on the insurance for them to complete the forms - what a complete farce."
