Cons:

  • "I paid a lot of money and all I got was a poor service."
  • "Not liking the new way the pdsa are operating due to Covid.. I had to wait for a call back which didn't happen till the next day."
  • "We were charged £300 for the 6-hour service. Then at 7 AM we took her to another Vets and were told the same (oh! you read the notes), at a cost of another £150."
  • "I have had pets for nearly 30 years now and never have I had the misfortune to come across a more uncaring vets."
  • "The only problem i have is the waiting time and the waiting area being very packed that i struggled to find a place."
  • "The same couldn't be said of the vet unfortunately, who was very brief and to the point with us."
  • "This place is alarming in its total lack of care for sick or injured animals. It reeks of incompetence and the vets show a very limited knowledge in treating the animals."

Facility and Accessibility

Pros:

  • "This is a well-equipped pet hospital, it's not just for people on benefits either, their fees are appropriate and usually a lot less than your average vets practice, it's run by kind and helpful staff and is always clean and has ample parking."
  • "Had to say goodbye to my little hammy, I'd never been there before but they were very friendly and understanding and supportive."
  • "Clean waiting area."
  • "Parking is available on-site."
  • "Called to re-register after 1 of my cats was bleeding badly from his foot, they registered me over the phone and gave me an appointment within 20 mins of calling."
  • "Staff lovely and very helpful. They do give you a bill, but just so you know the true cost and I gave as much as I could."
  • "The staff here are absolutely amazing. My cat broke his leg and they were so good letting me go back and see him before his operation etc."

Cons:

  • "I got there 5 min b4 my appointment and ended up waiting an hour to he seen."
  • "The only problem i have is the waiting time and the waiting area being very packed that i struggled to find a place."
  • "Cud do with waiting area being more cleaner...always feel dirty WEN I come outta this place."
  • "Long waiting times unfortunately. Cat designated area always full of dogs."
  • "We waited for an hour and a half for our appointment, it would of been ok, if we'd been told that, we would've been able to go out and stretch ours and our furbabies legs... Also, two pets were put to sleep, I, actually, saw them covered with the blankets, when the owners came out."
  • "Unfortunately the 40+ minute wait time is a bit of a nightmare."
  • "Too small a waiting area, hectic and a little hazardous with some owners not being in control of their dogs, I would say all pets should be in a cage not on leashes."

Value and Cost

Pros:

  • "Good value, should be appreciated more, especially when other vets charge way over the top prices."
  • "Affordable for all and great quality of care given to our furry friends."
  • "The PDSA is a low cost service and in some cases they only ask for a contribution."

  • "Fantastic Charity to help Animals in need of medical attention. Staff are helpful knowledgeable and you can see they do their job for the animals."
  • "Kind, helpful and knowledgeable staff. Affordable for all and great quality of care given to our furry friends."
  • "They Get No Funding From The Government - Money From People Who Can't Afford Full Vet Bill's Or PDSA Left Money By Family Bereavement, And By Donations Given To Keep PDSA Going."

Cons:

  • "I know it's a charity but look into the finances of the PDSA and you will find that it makes a lot of money."
  • "The Chief Executive earns over a hundred and eighty thousand pounds a year."

  • "Found to be quite uncaring towards my dog she needed treatment asap but did not want to help unless we paid in full before treatment."
  • "If the cost of treating the animal is too much this place will simply kill them."
  • "AVOID IF POSSIBLE!!!!!! I had a very bad experience, my cat was injured in a car accident. And was still moving around and other than a little pain he was fine, they told me to put him down if I never had funds straight away!"
