Accommodation

Pros:

  • "The stable rooms are all generously sized."
  • "Each and every room was clean, tidy, beautiful and some with gorgeous views."
  • "The accommodation on site is so luxurious and comfortable, our guests were blown away and loved being able to slip back to their rooms throughout the day for a shoe change or nap."
  • "The rooms are modern and well appointed, the location fabulous, and the prices stupidly low."
  • "The rooms were lovely & spotlessly clean."
  • "Room was lovely and warm with loads of room, pristine white bedding on a very large comfortable bed, everywhere beautifully clean."
  • "The room we stayed in was large and well appointed."

Cons:

  • "Badly lit (horrid bright, cheap spotlights in the room) more like a youth hostel than a £140 a night hotel."
  • "The cleanliness was quite poor with a rusty glass shelf, cracked and holed tiles in the wet room, cobwebs behind the bedside cabinets."
  • "It was cold in the room as well, to the extent we kept our coats on."
  • "The rooms have a wet room instead of proper showers/baths and the TV is tiny on the other side of the room."
  • "The carpet got dirty quickly and it's a long walk from the bathroom to the bed."
  • "The bed was very uncomfortable with a tired old mattress that needs changing."
  • "The rooms could do with an update on the bathrooms and some decor."

Food

  • "The food was exceptional, a private bbq was arranged for guests staying the night before and the wedding breakfast was sensational."

Cons:

  • "However the food was extremely average and at times flavourless and dry, all the bread was dry and the dinner had no seasoning if any at all."
  • "The meal we had on arrival was vile the next day we had short ribs that were so tough and chicken was dried out not at all succulent as chicken should be."
  • "Food not distributed evenly, with some tables receiving top ups when needed and other tables told there was no food left."
  • "Dinner was good but overpriced for the quality."
  • "The main courses fell a bit short of our expectations."

  • "The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful."

Cons:

  • "The communication from the new owners was shocking; every email or phone call had to be chased two or three times before it was answered."
  • "I arrived in the evening and was sure I would get something to eat. Now I was 10 hours on the road without something to eat and at the reception I was told that I have not reserved and therefore get nothing to eat."
  • "On check-out they tried to make me pay twice, unaware the money had already been taken from my account."
  • "Staff complaining to some of our guests that they were understaffed with one waiter telling my wife he had never worked an event before!"

  • "The views from the garden were spectacular and you could see the beautiful village of Corfe and the castle."

Value for Money

Pros:

  • "The prices stupidly low."

Cons:

  • "The only negative point we could think of was that the corkage was a bit pricy."
  • "Breakfast was good but that didn't make up for the £155 booking.com price tag."
  • "A bit pricey at £80 a night though."
  • "Vastly over-priced."

  • "We had our dog with us for this visit and she was also made very welcome."
