  • "Really kind and caring staff, from the receptionists, nurses and vets.. Everything was explained in detail and they were really helpful and lovely."
  • "The vets at this surgery are kind, caring, sensible and friendly. We have been using this surgery for many years and would never go anywhere else."
  • "The staff are remarkable, very caring and thoughtful 👏 I would recommend for anyone to use mount road vets."

Cons:

  • "If it was possible to put minus stars I would have. Awful experience."
  • "Seems the 'vet' too young and inexperienced, asked me lots of questions about my dog, for this experience charged me £40 + £17 for tablets not needed."
  • "This place is only interested in making money, I work for a rescue, and brought in one of our dogs for neutering, they wouldn't even give any discount."
  • "The last one I saw was incompetent and failed, because she wouldn’t examine her properly, to diagnose my dogs cancer which resulted in her death a few months later."
  • "No empathy, refuse to help when my dog was poorly."
  • "The vet is clearly a very uncaring and condescending man."
  • "They don’t care about animals, they only care about money."

Facility and Accessibility

Pros:

  • "Place is clean although waiting area is quite small."
  • "Just to add they now have air conditioning went with my dog boo lovely n cool."
  • "The open clinic hours make it really easy to see a vet without having to make an appointment."

Cons:

  • "Not very well organised clinic. Were 3rd in queue from opening and only have been asked in after everyone was gone 2 hours later."
  • "Great staff and vets but needs bigger waiting area very cramped bigger dogs end up waiting outside especially when busy and too hot in summer."
  • "This used to be a great vets until the previous head vet left, now prices have gone up, care has gone down, and you can’t get your pet seen to in an emergency."
  • "Opening times on Google are not correct. Go to the website for the right ones."
  • "Numerous appointments cancelled."
  • "Took my cat as an emergency he couldn’t breathe turned away as the surgery had changed to appointments the week before which I wasn’t aware off."

Cost and Value

Pros:

  • "I've been bringing Stimpy here since he was a tiny puppy, a year ago. In that time he's had the snip, booster shots, a microchip, and treatment for a bite from another dog, and we have only ever had exceptional service and great value at Mount Road!"
  • "Very good service, trust them with all our pets. No appointment needed, and only pay for any treatment, not the consultation, so can have your pets checked out if you're worried without worrying about the cost if it's nothing."
  • "There is a flat fee per visit which is very reasonable and can always call beforehand if any issues."
  • "Both our male chihuahua and cat had surgery recently and they were really well cared for, recovering quickly. Lovely staff from the receptionist to the vet and nurse. We were also charged half the cost our previous vet quoted-very competitively priced!"
  • "Amazing vets looked after my cat with great care. Not over priced at all actually compared to other vets I've delt with in the past very reasonable, don't over charge or fabricate illnesses."

Cons:

  • "They've recently nearly doubled their prices and just tried to charge me £40 for fleas drops I can buy elsewhere for less than a tenner."
  • "For blood tests and hopefully op went back wasn't expecting me look shocked told me pack of lies blood work wouldn't come back till Monday when last wk end was done there and then and states on the web site about bloods ect anyway one vet telling me give it a wk come back in sure I will be able fix or amputate that's after me suggesting to have him put to sleep telling me he would be fine on three legs this time was told better of putting to sleep had no choice couldn't leave him any longer to suffer £300 + down told a pack of lies get the feeling they forgot to put him down for op and was already fully booked just like wk before very disappointed and shocked been my vet for 20 years but not any more could even hear nurse whispering in back ground knowing full well they had messed up."
  • "I am feeling horrendously ripped off right now - my dog cut his paw and I paid £50+ just to be given some iodine solution to put on it."
  • "He felt around my dogs body and recommended antibiotics straight away which i was reluctant to agree to because i know the side effects."
  • "This Vet, only interested in money, we just came back from there, want my cat to have X ray, but he told us to come back tomorrow or the day after, gave a pain relief injection cost me £39 today."
