Quality of Care

Pros:

  • "The whole process was excellent. The receptionist Geri in particular was beyond outstanding."
  • "Highly recommend the staff at Vets Now Stoke. They were calm, reassuring, explained everything properly."
  • "The staff were very friendly and caring. I was updated frequently and felt at all times that Milly was being well cared for."
  • "The vet was very thorough, reassuring and fantastic with my rabbit! Highly recommend."
  • "Vets Now were amazing when we recently had to say goodbye to our lovely Labrador. Their compassion was incredible."
  • "We were seen very quickly by a fabulous vet who again was lovely, caring and patient and explained everything to me."
  • "The vet that we saw was caring and gentle with my sick dog. She did what she could until we could see our own vet the following day."
  • "Vets Now saved our dog's life. Our new rescue stray lurcher had Parvovirus and was referred to Vets Now for intensive treatment."

Cons:

  • "Inconsiderate nurses. My dog came in unalive, and they wrote ‘lola’ in a biro extremely scruffy at the bottom of it when his name is Loki."
  • "They refused to give antibiotics and said we had to go to our own vets the next morning! Absolutely disgusting amount of money to pay."
  • "Absolute rob dogs!!! They charged be close to £400 to give me something I could’ve got from Pets at home for £10.50."
  • "The only criticism I have is due to covid everything was done over the phone, even though you're sitting in the car park."
  • "Vet didn’t seem to care about my Guinea pig, they seemed to be annoyed that I was there."
  • "Had numerous threats of bailiffs despite choosing the option to pay a deposit and then to go through my insurance."
  • "I came to out of hours vets as I knew my dog had a urine infection, £407.00 later and 2 painkillers and a blood test, they refused to give antibiotics."
  • "They was soooo rude on arrival and after and they did.nothing for my dog."

Communication and Empathy

Pros:

  • "The team were fantastic from the moment we arrived to the moment our little dog was discharged over two days later."
  • "All the staff were so lovely on the two occasions that we had to visit the Stoke 'Vets Now' clinic with our pet cat Abraham."
  • "Excellent care and explanation as to what was going to be done to my kitten every step of the way."
  • "The staff were all so lovely and explained everything so well. We were given privacy and time to say goodbye to our beloved boy."

Cons:

  • "I can't complain about care from the vet but would appreciate some more compassion and empathy from the reception staff."
  • "More interested in the reasoning behind me not wearing a face covering than anything else."
  • "They are good that they are there over night and on days when standard vets aren’t open. But when you walk through the door at 9.15pm and then don’t leave till 12.15am when your pet isn’t well and also family waiting for you at home."
  • "Had to use this place for the 2nd time due to needing out of hours. 165 quid for 5 minutes of the vets time. Waited nearly 3 hours to be seen."

Cost and Billing

Pros:

  • "The end bill was also much less than originally estimated."
  • "All costs were advised before anything was done and the receptionist nurse talked me through how to claim on my insurance."
  • "Extremely professional service, from the initial phone call, triage and picking up my dog after surgery, everything was as you'd expect it."

Cons:

  • "I only have one negative, hence the 4 stars, not 5, is I found the billing confusing."
  • "The staff were fantastic dealing with our chocolate guzzling dog. However, while I appreciate out of hours costs for the consultation, the cost of the drug was triple the surgery hours costs."
  • "They charged near enough £16 for an insurance form to be processed and £160 for a short consultation."
  • "Overpriced and overcharged. Their costs are obscene, and immoral, at times where there is no choice."
