  • "The Chanterelle is a very big room and has a beautiful balcony... except that is just over the dining room."
  • "The room was tiny in honesty for the cost."
  • "Until wedding guests came into there room above us at 12.30am stomping around on creaking wooden floors, and running taps for some time."
  • "The room was bland with corporate style oak tables which had seen better days."
  • "We had an issue with our room which I won’t post have emailed the hotel directly to resolve but one major gripe we had to deal with on checking out the reception said we had not paid and needed us to pay for the room."
  • "Our room, Hawthorn, was comfortable & my only criticism was not enough provision was made for elderly guests to use the big shower."

  • "Everyone were made to feel so welcome, the staff could not say no to anything we asked and they went that extra mile to make our stay so good."
  • "The staff were very friendly and helpful, even going out of their way to cater for dietary requirements on a moment's notice (without even being asked!)"

Food

Pros:

  • "The food here is AMAZING."
  • "Had a special birthday afternoon tea party at Norfolk Mead and I have to say the food was excellent and the staff were brilliant looking after we ladies of, shall we say, more mature years."

  • "Food Amazing, Service Amazing, Attention to detail Amazing.. This dining room should have a Michelin Star!!!"
  • "The food is fantastic and very accommodating for anyone with intolerances or allergies."
  • "The food was perfection."

Cons:

  • "The food was presented very nicely but the seafood quality (COD, salmon, king prawn gratin) was not good, it was previously frozen and tasted dry and the prawns were processed food, it wasn’t good standard."
  • "A terribly small cooked breakfast, the portion of beans was ridiculously tiny, a literal mouthful, the bacon wasn't nice."
  • "The room needed to feel far more opulent to make the afternoon tea feel special."
  • "Wouldn’t rate the breakfast either which was a bit disappointing given the cost of the stay."
  • "We were also told that the bread rolls would be extra, even though it said that they were complimentary on the menu."
  • "Only downside was the price of drinks £12.00 for 2 drinks (a beer and a glass of wine)."
  • "Loose leaf tea would have been more in keeping rather than tea bags."
