  • "Would give no stars if i could. Can’t believe I am actually having to write this about what I thought was reputable charity."
  • "The staff are very rude and seem to look down their noses at you as if you are not good enough to adopt a dog."
  • "Not a very nice place at all, staff not friendly and rather rude to be honest."
  • "All they want is the money from you they don't give a flying monkey about your animal."

Staff and Volunteers

Pros:

  • "The volunteers are very helpful and are fully committed to the welfare of the animals in their care."
  • "Staff are excellent and really care for the animals."

Cons:

  • "Tracy informed us that she knew the couple she gave our reserved kitten away too... so it was clearly a matter of favouritism."
  • "The lady named Tracy is a horrible person and needs to learn how to talk to people!!"
  • "Broke my son's heart... shown interest in a dog wasn't told anyone else was interested even when asked."
  • "If I could give them 0 stars I would. Me & partner rang up to arrange visit to be told that we sounded “young” not knowing that our age or experience with animals (I work in vet)."
  • "Just had my dog attacked off a grey Lurcher dog belonging to a staff member (Angie) employee of Brysons."
  • "Continuously email and call to volunteer to walk the dogs. However, each time the response is tartar we don’t do volunteers anymore or for some reason ‘only people who are already volunteers’ are being used at this time."
  • "Staff are very rude and offensive."

Adoption Process

Pros:

  • "This is such a wonderful place. I am not able to have pets where I live, my daughter and I love helping out up here by caring for the animals and taking the dogs for walks."
  • "Kennels & grounds are ideal."
  • "They also like volunteer dog walkers to help out regularly, kitten cuddlers and people to sit with the cats."
  • "Great place to visit and take a dog walkies."
  • "This process gave me time preventing me from making a mistake and that Alfie's welfare was paramount."
  • "We recently had to say goodbye to our last cat fluffy, at the ripe old age of 22. We rang round a few rescue centres and most of them wanted online applications only. We believe that the animal chooses you not the other way around. We were invited to go and meet the cats."
  • "Amazing rescue, working so hard to look after so many animals and finding them amazing homes."

Cons:

  • "We just felt, giving up our time in Christmas day, giving what people donated without being ask deserved gratitude to those who donated, not, what felt like, 'not what we need's."
  • "Felt so let down when I called to arrange it."
  • "We were interested in a pair of cats who were brothers and we asked to reserve them for the next day when we would come back to buy them... we were told that we would not be allowed to take them."
  • "Not only an animal shelter it sells new to second hand pet accessories what u can buy cheap, what the public kindly donate."
  • "Need to have more organisation as on the website it only says that one pair of cats is reserved but if you try to buy a cat or ask which ones are available they turn around and either say none are available or they have all been reserved."
  • "Most cold and unhelpful staff! Refuse to help me introduce my dog to theirs as I don't have anyone to help me."
  • "SORRY TO SAY THIS BUT BRYSONS IS ALL ABOUT THE MONEY THEY DONT CARE ABOUT THE ANIMALS AS I FOUND OUT TODAY."
