Staff Attitude and Communication

Pros:

  • "Update for 23/08/23 - I've had recent dealings over the phone with some of the staff at Carlton Street Surgery after a referral from my own GP and things seem to be different from my own in-person experience 2 years ago. The staff I spoke to were friendly and helpful."
  • "I recently moved into the area and needed an emergency appointment to try and get some advice on a recently diagnosed condition. The receptionist who came to the door to deal with the patient in-front seemed very rude and standoffish."

Cons:

  • "I had an appointment with the nurse this morning. Very abrupt no bedside manner when I was asking questions."
  • "The GP appointment was over the phone, where he had no idea of my condition (which is fair), and asked me to explain, before interrupting me, telling me to be quiet and listen, and speaking to me like a child."
  • "Poor service, almost impossible to get appointments when needed, staff entirely too nosey about your medical needs and do not care about the patients needing urgent assistance."
  • "Receptionist obviously need training and communication isn't good is it?"
  • "Today, I have called 1077 times to try and get through as they have missed medication off my repeat prescription. I still have not managed to get though. The previous record was 378. I cannot find an email address on their website to email them, they wont answer the door to queries."
  • "I left a simple form to fill in and after 4 months this still has not been done. I have visited the place, called them numerous times. Poor communication and very poor service. I have asked them to call me back but there was no response."
  • "Went to collect some paperwork ready for a hospital appointment. Spoke to the receptionist at the door, very polite, but couldn't find the paperwork."
  • "I just got declined from registering because I don't live close enough and i have to register in some other GP... People should have the right to choose the gp and not be forced for another one. Lady on the phone was rude and didn't give any logical explanation about why I can't just normally register there."
